I have to say that it is a sad enditement of our political society that they have to resort to climbing into bed with anybody, no matter what the political persuasion, even Jeremy Corbyn, or using the law to balk what the country democratically voted for. If this second option takes place surely this will set a precident that others in future will resort to if they disagree with an issue that they don't agree with. That is surely the end of democracy and not the puerile suggestion that we didn't vote for a no deal. WE VOTED TO LEAVE. Get it!!

Oh the hypocrisy of this 'No Deal Alliance.' They state they are there to prevent a 'No Deal' when everyone knows the truth is they are working to prevent us leaving full stop as they are all Remainers! Except perhaps for Corbyn who doesn't know himself what he is. Why can't they have the guts to come clean and show their true colours?

I might have accused them of lying rather than hypocrisy and then I remembered there are those on here who think BeLeavers have the monopoly when it comes to lies!

Actually this is democracy in motion. We live in a Parliamentary democracy, MPs represent all of their constituents, whether they voted for them, against them or even if they couldn't vote at all. There has been a clear indication in the last two elections that we don't want a No Deal Brexit and MPs are reflecting those views in Parliament.

The only precedent I can see it following is that Parliament is sovereign, which has been our constitutional position for hundreds of years. The only way an issue that is not agreed on in Parliament is resolved, is by having a winning majority vote in Parliament - that has always been how our system works. A No Deal Brexit threatens our constitution.

Then why did Labour whip its MPs to trigger art 50? Why did Anna Soubry vote to trigger art 50? If they wanted us not to leave full stop, why did they do that in the first place?

They have given this Tory government every chance to negotiate a proper withdrawal agreement with the EU and they have failed. In my opinion, because the Leave campaign promised undeliverables during the referendum campaign. Its pretty clear now those involved in that campaign will point the finger and blame everyone else for that, particularly Remainers..

You are perfectly correct 923, that is the aim. What really has 'got my goat' in all the Brexit debate is that Remainers honestly believe that they are 'whiter than white' and are incapable of telling an untruth and that all Brexiteers are the 'Devil Incarnate' and lie without compunction. I know it is hard to believe, but that just isn't the case!

I don't quite understand what you are trying to say. But before the EU, our Parliament managed exactly the same. We have had Parliamentary democracy for hundreds of years.

The first rule of our constitution is that Parliament is sovereign and that takes precedent over a dodgy referendum we had 3 years ago. If you don't like it, go and live somewhere else. We are not a tinpot country ruled by a dictator, Boris Johnson wants to prorogue Parliament to get No Deal through. That's not 'taking back control', its giving control to one bloke who has told everyone what they have wanted to hear without any know-how of how to implement any of it.

And nothing like a nice soundbyte to finish off 'they need us more than we need them'.....its time to recognise if you voted Leave that you've been sold a pack of lies. 27 separate countries have had a clear strategy and have not changed their negotiating position from day one. We have not been able to negotiate a withdrawal agreement that suits us, because there is no withdrawal agreement that hard right leavers would ever approve.
