Sadly some couldn’t see it at the time.
Same with McLean, some couldn’t see the player within.

How I’d love a player like Madison again, even on loan.

Exactly - was utterly insane that a player as talented as that was left on the bench a lot of the time he was here! Christie was the only proper no10 that McInnes has ever given a decent shot, and quite often his appearances were out on the wing as well. McLean was a mainstay, but often played in the deeper role rather than in creative position.

Absolutely, he's exactly what we need right now - someone like Madison or Christie - but McInnes often plays players like that in wide positions when he lets them in the team.

If we got him back on loan now, he'd still be sitting on the bench, and brought on for the last 15 minutes to play on the wing with strict instructions to track back constantly to provide support to Shay Logan.
