    Same problem, different magnitude.
I take it you don't like cricket then.

If FIFA are serious about equality they should kick out Iran now, and Saudi Arabia and one or two others.

Sorry Brin, and I'm certainly not trying to belittle your thread because it most certainly is thought provoking, but when I read she tried to get in to the football ground dressed as a man, I couldn't get out of my mind the part in the film 'The Life of Brian' where all the women turn up to a stoning with false beards on because women aren't allowed to stonings

No doubt Iran is a shyte country on many levels but what amazes me is how we are conditioned into thinking in a certain way.

Take the case of Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe for example. Jailed in Iran for spying which caused a media storm here claiming she is innocent.

She might well be, but equally she might be guilty. All we have as “evidence” is our government saying she is, and that’s it. She must be innocent because she’s British and it’s something involving Iran.

The media start the song and we all join in the chorus

She's not accused of spying, Jolly, but not don't let that get in the way of your usual ill-informed clap-trap.

Good grief we've only just passed laws in the UK that golf clubs should open its membership and clubhouses to women.

Not sure its FIFAs role to be the policeman to the world. If that were the case many countries, Australia included, would be in serious danger of being booted out.
