    Totally agree with you Kerr.

Have you read Skinners book Sailing Close to the Wind? Read it about a year ago - very good read.

Labour are playing a risky strategy, if they do lose the heartlands you can forget Labour for a long while.
Completely in touch with my hometown Casp. Some of my oldest friends are avid Brexiteers and one in particular makes Fire look like Dominic Grieve! Have good debates with them, so regularly get the full on Heartlandds treatment and completely understand their position. I don't agree with them (on the wish for No Deal) but I understand fully where they are coming from.

Think we'd all agree though that the Heartlands are only in this position because successive governments, red and blue have **** on them for 40+ years. We just disagree on where the blame lies and what the solution is.

Did you and wanchai watch it? She says "I won't knife you in the back, I'll knife you in the front".

The last couple of days she has been talking about how dangerous Boris's language by using words such as surrender and betray.

She might not mean it literally but using this language is surely worse?

Completely agree with this Kerr. I have far more savage debates with me old Brexity Rotherham pals, can get a bit heated, but all end up getting happily drunk and crack on with our lives.

Sadly, it has split many friends and families for good though.

The terms of endearment aren't working are they.

I really do like Jess Phillips. She is honest, which goes a long way in my books.
I like Jess too. Good honest and blunt speaker and people would find her authentic.

Put her in charge and your media (and the usual folks on here) would still be tearing her to bits for being a commie, just like Red Ed. Just think she'd struggle to cope with that level of pressure and abuse. But her authenticity and likability make her a good prospect though.

Any other ideas for who you would like to see as new leader of the reds at some point in the near future?

I think just about everyone understand the expression 'knife in the back' is not meant literally, but take your point that someone with mental health problems might get the wrong end of the stick.

For my part, I think Johnson's responses to comments about Jo Cox were ill judged, but I dare say most people's judgments might be a little off if they had flown in from the USA and then faced several hours of people screaming at him, some of whom are now leading the 'holier than thou' charge.

I have no time for the people who are upset about the use of 'Surrender Act'. Again, the self-same people had no problem using the expression ‘Dementia’ Tax ' two years ago. And, in negotiating terms, it is an act of surrender.

If Brexit has split families and friends up for good, they probably weren't the strongest of families and friends to begin with and need to look at their communication styles.

Give it a rest with the 'your media' style snipes, lover. It's neither big nor clever and says far more about you than me.

I'm sure the Mail and Sun would put the boot in on any new Labour leader, in much the same way that The Mirror and The Guardian would laud them as the second coming. The Daily Star would be more interested in who was shagging whom on Strictly Come Dancing.

I have no idea who else would make a good Labour leader. The current Labour machine only trusts a handful of MPs to appear on TV and radio. I'm sure that there is talent on the Labour backbenches, but we won't get to see it, however.

I know Keir Starmer reasonably well, but am not sure where I stand on him. We never really talked politics and we only see the Brexit side of him at the moment. The fact that he once resigned from the shadow cabinet because of Corbyn bodes well.

Thought you'd turned over a new leaf Kerr.
