Unfortunately we live in a different world now, how long before someone gets all offended and the show gets pulled? or someone sues them for defamation
I wonder if it will end up being a watered down version of the original, the great thing about the original was that it didnt care who it annoyed

I do believe I'll pass. It will would be as 'funny' as all the woke garbage we have already.
The creators will have to knock up a dozen puppets in SS uniforms (wasn't it Tebbit portrayed as such in the original?)
Plenty of halos for anyone left-leaning.
Just another virtue signal to join the circle jerk (I love that phrase) of stuff like HIGNFY (is that still going?) Mash Report etc.

Ian Hislop, a Tory, was one of the main contributors to the original Spitting Image.
HIGNFY was probably a significant factor in popularizing Farage, Rees-Mogg and certainly Boris Johnson, but that programme - as with comedy in general - has gone seriously downhill over the last decade. I wouldn't be expecting much from a return of Spitting Image.

I used to buy Private Eye religiously (it had some very interesting inside information) and watch HIGNFY which was sharp and funny.
After the referendum it took me three issues and two episodes to bin both.
Hislop, Merton and Fry. No doubt they're regular dinner guests of Emily Thornbelly - another Labour (snigger) Champagne Socialist.

Hislop a Tory? He disguises it well.

He's probably voted Liberal at some point but I'm pretty sure he's to the right of center. Magdalen College, Oxford educated would suggest so.

Yes we can’t be supporting elite education, we need Corbyns Britain, all the same, low IQ and potential labour supporters.

In this interview he says he's voted for the three main parties plus the Greens, based on who he thinks is least corrupt at the time and has the best intentions rather than ideology.

Certainly would be a welcome diversion from the grim mood that is dominating things these days. The Thatcher puppet was absolutely brilliant. Apparently, she was a fan of the show herself.
Can't wait to see Boris Johnson puppet and north Korea president ffs. I'm going to be in stitches

Oscar Wilde, and Dominic Grieve are both alumni, so that might be something of a sweeping statement.
