I wonder what the Hong Kong protestors would make of all this as they risk life and limb because they want a democratic say in the laws that affect them.

Are Labour planning to stop with just subcontracting employment law to Brussels or are they going to shop around the world for other Parliaments that could be handed control over aspects of our lives? I understand that Iceland is doing exciting things with Family Law, so perhaps Labour could hand that part of our law making to Reykjavik as a starter?
I dont quite get Skinners logic. Is there something within Johnsons withdrawal agreement that says the Tories will scrap workers rights?

I think its more about the outcome of Northern Working Class voters siding with Tory millionaire Neoliberals. They are not getting what they thought a leave vote would deliver.

That's not the point. Why be so passionate about how awful it is to be subject to eu standards and laws when you were perfectly happy with them when voting Remain?

Surely better to say 'on balance I am happy to be subject to eu laws on balance of a tariff free trading arrangement that benefits UK industry but I am happy to respect the referendum result and support Johnston' s deal'. Instead, you're arguing as you a Brexiteer despite having voted against them. Weird.

No there isn't anything in the deal about the erosion of worker's rights. It merely provides that the UK Parliament will take back responsibility for legislating on that area of law when we leave the EU and no longer send
    MEPs to Brussels and Strasbourg.
