Anyway, its seems to be democracy when it suits you yeah...

Just remember this, the Tories are finished long term. The younger generation haven't been brainwashed by The Mail and The Sun like you have. Enjoy your evening of reading the Mail, getting angry at foreigners and people who wear rainbow laces...

The only bizarre thing is a knob like you who keeps posting bollox! So as your as simple as 123, in the UK why should a 16 year old vote when they can't buy alcohol or tobacco or in legal terms, sue or be sued, or even have a bank account in their own name. Perhaps, Corbyn will promise sweeties to the under 18's, as he promised free uni fees, and we know where that bulls hit went!

As for fat Swinson, she will want the under 18's to vote, as she sounds like a sixth former herself, and clearly out of her depth.

At least a knob like you may get to vote - if of course, you have turned 16!

That’s funny. Even the feckless and the wastrels can see through all of Corbyns BS promises he’ll never keep. Free tuition, free care, 32 hour working week without loss of income, free prescriptions for all, free this free that. This is a bloke who has previously admired Venezuela’s socialist model so if he gets in God help us

18 is a good starting point.
18 is too old to start taking responsibilities.....16 in this day and age with access to information on the internet....more then capable to make informed decision on your future......
Old people are the big threat.......lack of ability to change quickly........perhaps they will change it soon....not likely this time...the old guard win....today!

There are many out there in all age groups who are politically ignorant, or just too bigoted to listen to well argued opinion. I'd like to see a system that asks a series of questions and tells you which party's manifesto aligns to the majority of your answers. I rarely hear 16yr olds talking about politics but for the older generation and the one before that it takes up much of their time so on balance 18yrs+ for me.

Last time I took my mom to vote who in the early stages of vascular dementia, she ask from the booth who she's got to vote for. She replied Labour of cause, that's who always vote for. She only missed one vote in her life that was after she went into the Nursing home.
My twin brother has only voted once, that was to vote leave. Can't see him voting again.

Most 16 year olds these days don’t know if they’re Male, female or a toaster!

It’s incredible hearing a grown adult advocating votes for kids.

They haven’t got the first clue......offer them free tuition fees and a free copy of “Readers Wives” and they’ll give you their vote.

    Ludicrous.

Yeah blame Thatcher.....always the easy target.

This country was a hollow shell when she inherited it FFS.
She doubled the unemployment rate in 2 years. Are you seriously blaming Labour for that?

The equivalent would be for Labour to win the election in Dec 2019, and unemployment to have doubled in Dec 2021. And me saying its because of the mess the Tory Govt for the previous 9 years...

As I've said, the Falklands saved her political career.

So you must have been equally as disgusted when Tory Members voted for Johnson as PM. Considering Tory Member can vote for the Leader from the age of 16...

Of course you weren't. Because you're a hypocrite.

If 16-18 year olds furthered your ideology I'm sure you'd be in favour of it.

They usually decide the Left are feckless w a n k e r s who are useless with money and constantly take the country into debt.

This is why two thirds of the time Labour are out of power and it’ll continue to be so.

My youngsters all hate Corbyn and Labour now they’ve matured and it’s amazing what family responsibilities have done to their political judgements.
Perhaps that was true to some extent in the past, but things have changed in the last 20-30 years. Mainly the rise of the internet and social media.

Before that, most access to current affairs was a newspaper and News at 10. Now we have various and diverse news sources and information immediately. That's why 16-18 year olds have never been better informed than they are today.

Newspapers like The Sun and Mail are slowly losing their influence.

As a result, my prediction is that in 20-30 years into the future, we'll have centralist parties in power. The Tories will be forever known as the party who screwed the country over Brexit and a lot of their core older voters will pass away, and they'll struggle.
