Gibson in for Tarkowski anyone?
It would be great if anyone could be arsed to comment on Dave's weekly contribution.![]()
.
....wot - as much as you did....BT ?
Daleks or Cybermen.
as for the Game....as I see it - Lowton received the ball from Hendick - and I think would have just passed it to Tark, but for some reason Tark (unmarked) pointed him back to goal, so he didn't want it ?....that put Lowton under unnecessary pressure, confused his next touch, causing the mistake.
....the second, I dont know what Tark was thinking...trying to squeeze a long pass through two Chelsea players...a Very silly blunder.
Chelsea still had to get it into the back of the net - but unlike many PL players - that dither or fluff it because they dont get that perfect scoring opportunity - a more decisive side like Cheesee can sniff through the cracks that'd ordinarily - go unnoticed.
Cheers Dave.

Dave writes from his personal viewpoint. i like his honesty.
I like the articles too though I don’t always comment. They add to the diversity on this site. We don’t always agree - why should we? - but we do tend to agree to disagree from time to time and if anyone oversteps the mark the moderators imho act fairly and reasonably.
TEC promises to have a bit of a remodel and a wee revamp of the site. Clarets Mad will integrate into all of the social media platforms and smarten up the photo library.
Nothing dramatic, but after an Alto comment of which he finds congruence, TEC thinks we need to attract another 20 or 30 posters to freshen up the discourse on the forum.
Personally I like the way it is, but I'm always happy to go with the flow.![]()
BT is right, Dave's reports are always well written and interesting and do deserve some comment, although 'Gibson in for Tarkowski anyone' is hardly going to inspire Dave to take to his keyboard after the next game is it BT ?
I take Dave's point that Chelsea are not to most fan's taste, but they don't particularly bother me, there are half a dozen other clubs just like them, trying to buy success, it's just a fact of PL life, and Chelsea are no better or worse than the others imo. I found the game depressing, it was a perfect example of why I don't go anymore, even with feet up in my comfy chair I wasn't really looking forward to watching the second half, and if I'd been sat at Turf Moor I'd have been saying to myself, just wtf am I doing here ?
I'm curious about those that do go, like BT, Outwood, Army, Supersub etc, do you still enjoy these games, do you think it worth all the travelling time there and back, do you ever think, nah I've had enough of this, maybe this is my last season. It came upon me quite suddenly, maybe it was an age thing, but it didn't creep up gradually, one season I was going to every home game and as many away as I could manage, the next season no ST and just half a dozen games, last season just one cup game, this season I doubt I'll be going on at all.
To me it seems like we've come to the end of a journey that started in 1987, there was always something to hope for, something to achieve, but where do we go from here, the only way now is down and the hope, excitement and anticipation has gone. I'm bored with Burnley in the PL, just hanging on in there, hoping we might get lucky against much better teams, waiting for the inevitable relegation, it's not for me, but maybe it's just me, the STs are still selling, so it probably is just me.![]()
Just from my own personal perspective sinkov, I still think we are on a journey. SD seems committed to taking the club forward and the Child Bride now has her own ST along with my youngest son.
The three of us enjoy the trips, the games and I still love the away days, probably more than the home matches.
I was taken on the Turf by my Grandad when I was just four years old and I still love it as much now as I did back then. Sad or what I don't know or care, my passion for the Clarets shows no signs whatsoever of diminishing. UTC#
I really do enjoy watching the Clarets playing against anyone. I enjoy the tactics which we employ and the way in which each player knows his role and just gets on with it and we play as a team.".......I'm curious about those that do go, like BT, Outwood, Army, Supersub etc, do you still enjoy these games, do you think it worth all the travelling time there and back, do you ever think, nah I've had enough of this, maybe this is my last season. I have been going to the Turf for 68 seasons and, since 1966, I have not lived nearer than 100 miles from the ground. I have enjoyed and suffered throughout all those years, however, I have decided that I shall not renew my season ticket next season.
I know that VAR has had a big bearing on my decision, however, on thinking deeper about my reasons, I have come to the conclusion that the game itself is no longer as enjoyable to watch because it is becoming too sanitised!
Players are becoming afraid to tackle because there have been several cautions issued to players who have won the ball fair and square, however, their opponent had decided to roll around and a foul has been awarded followed by a caution.
The least bit of contact is seeing players go to ground and trying to con the officials, quite a number holding their head so that officials stop the game etc., etc.
FIFA seem to be hell bent in making the game a non-contact support, particularly at the top levels of the game, and this is not the game which I have loved for such a long time.
Next season will be local non-league football and Rugby League at an estimated saving of around £1500 which will pay for another trip on the high seas.
