    Breaking news: More than 50 MPs have announced they are standing down ahead of the December 12 general election, with some hinted at the toxic nature of modern politics during a wave of announcements.

    If they want to trash our democracy and betray 17.4 million Leave voters, not to mention the millions of decent, democratic Remain voters who also believe a referendum result should be honoured, then they shouldn't be surprised that the atmosphere is toxic.
