    The rugby .....gracious losers?

In the main yes I think we just about were.......just one game too far to be honest. Maybe we got too excited after the All Blacks win.....after all beating the Wallabies, the All Blacks and the Springboks three weeks in succession was always a tough ask.....mind I thought the French ref was absolute [email protected] England with all those penalties.......and their first try was an obvious forward pass at least the way it looked on TV.........still have to say the best team won on the day.....

I guess we will now have to put up with the gloating from our Celtic neighbours.....but at least we make it to finals.....whereas for some the only pleasure they get is seeing us get beat.....

Back to the football.....praying we beat those sh@tt?rs in the potteries on Monday night.....although sadly will not be there.....rather back in the warmth of Bahrain....

Fair play to SA, but the real winners of this tournament were the Japanese authorities who organised it. On top of that, never once heard if there was any hint of any trouble at any of the venues.

Best side won. Ref gave the penalty’s as The Springbok worked on England’s weakness in the scrum. Forward pass, looked like it at first but very much doubt it was as TMO is excellent in rugby and it would have been checked.

Bill Beaumont was exceptionally magnanimous. Not heard anyone gripe. The best side on the day won.

    Well done to South Africa.

In many ways the worse thing that happened to England was the ease in which they beat the All Blacks. The fans, I feel, felt that they only had to turn up in order to win. The players, although publicly didn't make the same noises, perhaps felt the same way. On the day there was only one side in it. The Springboks were better than England in every department of the game and thoroughly deserved their victory.

Most Rugby players are intelligent educated people while most footballers are thicko's from the gutter, and their behaviour on and off the field bears testimony to this.
Football should take a leaf from Rugby's book, the clock stops as soon as the ball is out of play, only a team captain is allowed to speak to the ref, any silly celebrations like sucking a thumb should result in a card. Anyone who feigns and injury should be instantly stretchered off, if they jump up as soon as the stretcher appears then a card.
It would stop all the childish behaviour and time wasting that has blighted a game i once loved. Some of the feckers are more suited to a stage than a football pitch.
I think players behaviour has gone a long way to inciting crowd trouble. Football used to be like Rugby and other sports, where fans would mix and enjoy the game.
