If only the striker could have the same impact from the start as he does from the bench he would be some player. Dispatched the penalty with ease and saw his header hit the post. Perfect substitute performance.

It would be great if Bilic could get the best out of him for the 90.......failing that, great impact sub. (mine)
I am Ancient enough to remember one of the all time great impact subs...David Fairclough of Liverpool...

Some playes are impact players and change games from the bench. Steve Heighway at Liverpool was a classic example and so was our on Lloyd Dyer. But you wouldn't start a game with them, the same with HRK.
If we had a striker in the same calibre as Kevin Philips we would be out of sight the chances this team creates.

Agree Des! We would be out of sight too with Gayle as the team is better than last season except the ruthless goal scorer. We also have a proper manager as opposed to numpties like Moore and Shan.

I agree with all that's been said on here. Its just good to hear some positivity for HRK who has hastled and harried the opposition since he came here and scored some important goals, even this season. Slav said a lot of people have underestimated him, maybe a bit of faith early on in his career could have produced more, but then he wasn't always used as a striker and I think that label has produced high expectations. Austin isn't fit to tie Kanu's boots at the moment which is something I never thought I would hear myself saying.
