Have to agree with much of what blood say. We are totally Apple at the moment for personal use, Apple Mac what ever and iPads with and old iPod.My idea, as I have/did have a hobby of video editing/photography etc. Apple was by far better for doing this.

The thing is Apple is a totally different animal in my view. It is quicker, however, we have had issues. Word docs sent to us from Microsoft do not always formulate correctly and can be unreadable.

I use Microsoft for work purposes and I have to say enjoy the ease of it compared to Apple.

Please take note, I know nothing about the techno side of these things.

Buying a computer really comes down to what use it is going to get......
Apple is great for graphics and the like......but is pricey.......and as mentioned, can be problematic for upgrades.. Standard laptops and desk tops are fine if you are only browsing the internet and reading script.....
So much hype about all the whistles and bells on these things....pointless if you are never going to use them.....
According to the world and his dog...I should have a Mac for photography...but I don't...I get by with my HP desk top....
But then I have a mobile prepay for years now cause I only use it for texting and the very odd call..or to be contacted.....everything else is disabled on my phone...location etc......so really depends on your use for it....

It’s like when you’re able to afford your first quality car and then deciding to go back to your Morris Marina ( in my case! )

Like swopping your 48 inch flat screen TV with HD and all the surround sound for that Redivision rental you rented in the 70’s.

I’ll bet Des had one of those 😆
Had a MacBook Pro but found I preferred office on Windows
Also had Parallels loaded so I could switch to Windows software for some work specific software that was only Windows

Although it was a great laptop build quality wise It was very noisy due to fans cooling especially when running Windows only software via parallels

I think Toshiba are now owned by a Chinese company and I would he wary of what spyware they would have on it.

A lot of well known brands now license their names to other companies now so it is very hard to know what you are actually buying these days.
The Chinese are welcome to my drunken and ‘specialist’ web browsing Amazon purchases and football searches

Hope all is well BB, I should be over for games over Xmas if you fancy a beer

I am well and hope you and your family are too and that your daughter (if I remember correctly) is getting a good wba upbringing.

Soulman if all you do is browse the net I would consider a chromebook which will cost about £180.
