Apparently Hourihane picked up a knock during the week, WCV. I wouldn’t of played him yesterday anyway. The next 2 games are right up his street though, he has to start both (if fit).

Correct Dave, 1 poor game doesn’t make us a bad team. Unfortunately being sh1te in 4 out of our last 6, does. Making the same mistakes over and over again, does. 66% pass completion, does. No attacking threat, does.

We look tired all over the pitch, too many players only perform once every 6 or 7 games (both wingers). I fear that Saints, Watford and Burnley will outmuscle us and Norwich will play around us. Despite this fear, we should have realistic hopes of winning the next 4.

C’mon Villa, lets get it on!!!

Well I would play all the fringe players and youth v Liverpool and rest the 1st team minus Wesley, he hasnt broken sweat yet.
We really need 3 pts Saturday, its time to roll up the sleeves and fight for every ball. We need every one of the 42,000 to do their job as well, no good going to the game and just sitting their, the players need our support. Its also time for the likes of McGinn and grealish to step up as their stock is waining a bit. We need that defence sorting. Is it time for a rethink? 3 at the back?

Couldn't care less about the league cup vs our league plight, the opposition in the next few games will be thinking exactly the same as us and see it as their chance to pick up points so these games are going to be very tough. I was more confident a few weeks ago but our early promise is fading fast.

    4-4-2 for me:

    Heaton
    Fred/Hause/Engels/Targett
    Trez/Nakamba/Conor/Jack
    El Ghazi & Wes

    McGinn needs a breather

I've got the feeling that something is a foot, players togetherness has dropped considerably in the last few weeks, maybe a deal has been done to sell someone?

Well we want the old McGinn not the current one so based on current form, dare i say it, He wont be missed! Seriously I dont want him to go but agree something is not Right. Play like this v Southampton then I would say for definate but a good moral boosting win and we are back!

Over to the league cup v Liverpool, who you lot got?

Fair point, long way to go yet but pre season there was a lot of condescension and disparaging coming from Villa fans towards Sheffield United. We were certs to go down while Villa settled comfortably in mid table. I'm not sure where that came from given that we finished comfortably above you in the league, gubbed you 4-1 at the Lane and were comfortably the better side at VP save for an 8 minute period when we imploded.

Anyway good luck for the rest of the season

Hi Wardy. I really dont know where you have heard all this hype by villa fans. We have always said like so many others, survival will be success! Ive never had a go at sheff utd and we took our defeat gracefully, no bitterness. If you guys finish 4/5th well good luck to you.
I will say it again, if by the end of the season if, there are 3 worse teams than us in the prem then we at Villa Park will be well happy.
