What has got to me this season is that in some games it has taken going behind or a *******ing at half time to get players moving. Not acceptable in my book.
Abuse of certain players is, unfortunately, endemic in the game. Some clubs have more 'moaners' than others and we are deffo prem league in that respect. We have always had players who were targeted for whatever reason but some have 'recovered' by showing even the whingers of their commitment. McGovern is one who comes to mind and a combo of his own input and BC's support achieved this. This highlights the player/manager link.
Overcoming the moaners shows a player he has got what it takes, footie is not a nice business to be in but achieve success and the rewards are high!!
As I say, make the commitment 24/7 both mentally and physically and the good life may beckon and we fans will also reward you! Talent helps but fall below those standards and you will frustrate yourself, your manager, your team mates and your fans. Are you listening Lawrence!!

And thats my main gripe, go one 1-0 down or down to 10 men or come second half we start to play with a bit of passion, bit of fire when we should play like that from the start, we have to want it, want it more than the opponent, too many players look to the other player to make something happen, not one player in my eyes takes the game to the opponent and they just seem to go through the motions every match day
Nor mine and recent performances against Wigan and Wednesday at home and Reading away illustrate your point perfectly, but doesn’t that also suggest that Cocu is actually having an impact at half time?
Why they can’t start the same way I don’t know...shattered confidence and a lack of on pitch leadership perhaps.
Management obviously has to take some responsibility but Lampard’s signings - which seem to be largely a collection of crocks and misfits - seem more to blame than Cocu to me.

Disagree on Reading. Much, much better performance than the previous 2.
Take your word for that...didn’t see it, but against Wednesday we were inept in the first half but looked like a different team in the second after whatever Cocu had to say...and that was against a ‘form’ team who have since taken six points off two promotion contenders.

I don't see how you come to the conclusion Derby fans are "premier league" in getting on players backs, I've certainly experienced worse at other clubs and some of those clubs had won a trophy in living memory and were playing at a level which the average Derby fan would think is nirvana.
I actually think its better now than when I went to games in the 70's, the abuse then was something shocking and often involved comments entirely unrelated to a players playing ability!
If fans aren't allowed to moan in pubs workplaces and forums like this, as seems to be the implication and presumably at matches just quietly shaking ones head is all thats allowed, then those that complain about "lack of atmosphere" will then pipe up!
The reason why players get going when they go behind is quite simple, they have nothing to lose, that nervous edgy approach, not wanting to do anything that could result in a mistake and a goal is gone and they play with more freedom, simple psychology really and at Reading they achieved that within 5 minutes!! They had no choice but to try and take the game to Reading.
Reading AR's comments, perhaps Cocu is cleverer than we thought, he has been telling the players to let a goal in first knowing it motivates them!
