Oh well here we go. Usual pre Derby nerves starting to kick in but I’m trying to remind myself that the build up to this one is actually no different from the previous two i.e. the Funsters coming in on a bit of form and spouting their usual pish in the papers while Neilson has continued to play the strict party line of ‘one game at a time’. Further, I’m trying to remind myself also that in the immediate aftermath of the previous two, I was wanting to play them again straightaway as we had proven to be a country mile ahead of them.

I’ve been really looking forward to this one from full time on Nov 8th as I knew it would be a good one what with the time of year and the potential crowd. But what has happened since has surpassed every Arabs’ wildest imagination with winning every game since and conceding no goals whatsoever to an opposition player, combined with the unprecedented scenario of United selling out their entire ticket allocation in a single day. The fact we have gone on to sell half the Funsters allocation makes it even, well, Funnier.

So why a bit nervous? Mainly due to worries about potential unexpected events like in any Derby - a sending off, a crucial injury, a penalty etc etc which could turn events decisively against us. Otherwise though with the logical head on, if it wasn’t the Funsters and it was just any other fourth place team rocking up to Tannadice facing up to a side 17 points ahead, on the back of a NINE match winning run and a season aggregate of 8-2, all in front of 12,000 plus mad-for-it Arabs then I think it’s safe to say we’d be pretty confident.

So, on that basis if we do our jobs, keep our heads and, well, just keep doing what we’ve been doing we WILL win. And win well.

Have a great day (and it will be all day!) and night y’all. Sing loud and proud and get right tore intae them.

    C’MON UNITED!!!!!!

Good post. I share a lot of these sentiments. If we turn up then we should win and would be nice to win well in front of a big crowd.

The Fun will be motivated though and still dangerous. Not without risk. The first goal and getting ahead will be crucial for us

Spot on, it's just the natural football fan stuff, we are on such a good run, 11 home league wins in a row, 9 league wins in a row, no win at Tannadice for then since 2004, 11,500 Utd fans with just 1,800 funsters (less than we had at the doon derby) so you just know if they are to have there night it week be this derby, won't matter a bit in scheme of things but will give them one of their great nights to look back on (such is the nature of the funsters) but all that said if we turn up then it's a very difficult evening for them, and I can't really see us not turning up

    C'mon United
    Obliterate them
    5 will be fine

Will be an interesting test to see if the manager can keep the players right up for it, ready to tear them apart from the first whistle.

Great post James, I'm sure you're summing up all Arabs' feelings so well.

And whatever happens, remember, KEEP CALM & BE CHAMPIONS.

The bookies have us as very firm favourites.
Opap have us at 1.4 and the Dees at 7.65

I never really thought such a spread was real for a derby.

    Get right into them.

Think they will come at us at 100mph but as long as we keep the head and don't get involved with any of the niggly ****...we should be alright. I have a gut feeling that this one might be a bit dirty and have a horrible feeling that we might get conned into making this a battle.
Just go out, full effort and play with confidence and we will be grand!
Praying that not only do we beat them...but we take their souls as well!
