GRANT MCCANN WILL MAKE CHANGES TO HIS HULL CITY SIDE FOR SATURDAY’S EMIRATES FA CUP THIRD ROUND TIE AT ROTHERHAM UNITED, BUT NOT THE KIND OF WHOLESALE CHANGES THAT WERE SEEN IN THE CARABAO CUP EARLIER THIS SEASON.
The Tigers made eleven and ten changes respectively for trips to Tranmere Rovers and Preston North End back in August, but McCann says that is not an option this time around.
“We won’t be doing that,” said McCann.
“We want to get through to the fourth round of the FA Cup. We have a good squad and there will be changes to the team to bring a bit of freshness to the group.
“There are two players that we’ll rest completely that started the game the other day. We’ve seen how George Honeyman and Matthew Pennington have come in and taken their chance over the last week or so and that is what you want to see.”
Keane Lewis-Potter will be hoping to make his first start for the Club, while new loan signing Herbie Kane will be included in the Tigers’ squad.
Rotherham United boss Paul Warne has also suggested that he might freshen his side up after the hectic festive period, with his side currently sitting in second place in Sky Bet League One.
Supporters are reminded that Saturday’s game kicks-off at 12.31pm and that there is the facility to pay on the day (cash only) at AESSEAL New York Stadium.
