My thoughts on that back pass:
The keeper caught the ball outside the post but carried it over the line so the referee gave a corner. Our fans are incensed and insist we should have been awarded an indirect free kick in a dangerous position.
So change the scenario slightly and imagine the keeper caught the ball inside the post but carried it over the line so the referee gave a goal. Our fans are incensed and insist we should have been awarded an indirect free kick in a dangerous position.
Don't think so folks....surely the referee was right.

Games coming up in February/ March don't look as difficult on paper as the ones in April/ May.

Said to my lad before full time how jaded we looked, funny Warne should use the same term to describe the team's performance today.

To a man they all looked knackered and initially were clueless, especially through the middle, how to deal with Burton's constant attacking force. Being honest, I have to say that Burton were by far one of the most regimented and committed teams to play us at the NYS this season and credit to them, Clough has a very strong side.

Okay, some might say we robbed them, did we really? I called both subs correctly and rightly so, Vass was way off his game today and that is no detriment to his recent games where he's given his all. Adelakun was getting stripped every time in the middle to latter of the second half and needed replacing. What is encouraging, is that the two that came on lifted our game and it resulted in a well worked winner.

Managerial substitutions used to good effect? Good players to back up those replaced? You bet on both counts. Warne said he blamed himself for not having is eye on today in order to better the team. It's been a very physical, demanding and at times, emotional 8 days for a lot of people involved at the club and with 2 out of 3 wins, we should rejoice the result today. A very tired but great effort all round.

Burton did give us a very good game but it's goals that win games not sentiments. UTM!

Successful teams find a way to grind out points when they are not at their best .

A great win because we played a team that were organised, quick to close us down and could count themselves unlucky to leave NYS with nothing to show for it. However, when we look back at the results this season whatever the final outcome, we will see 3-2 and 3 points. I think Woody was MOM and all the players did their best in difficult circumstances. And, for those who tell TS to get his wallet out, just remember what record signings at a moderate cost can get you. Freddy was excellent in his cameo appearance and worried them whenever he got the ball. Oh, and yes and he scored the winner.

Mellow if you have not seen it on tv .. watch it .. there keeper only takes the ball over the line because he is annoyed with his defender or himself in my opinion... it was a clear free kick .. and I'd like to put money on ..that it would have gone in the net.... and therefore prevented a clear goal... had the keeper taken the ball over the line into the net then we would have wanted the goal because that should have been the correct outcome ..therefore it's our advantage... the ref and linesman got it wrong.hugh mistake.
