Can’t believe some of the comments on here, let’s be fair and balanced we got out of jail today we were second best to a very good side.
Burton will be up there if they play like that
If burton beat all our rivals now that will do me
Let's give our own team some praise too ... I dont think anyone is denying that Burton played well .. but I think we showed great character in the fact we didnt play our best .. yet we scored another 3 goals and won .. we must have done something right ..
We did. When we pressed we were good. Think we got a bit caught out with the ball over the top defensively. THink BUrton were trying to catch Wood out with his lack of speed. If Tilt had played they may not have used that tactic. In saying that I am not taking owt away from the magic hat man it is since we have had him back in the team we have gone on this good run. If wood plays till the end of the season we will have a good chance of the autos,

Can't see why any fan would want to big up a losing team, especially one we've just beaten?
The game ended 3-2 to us, end of......
Up to 70 minutes, they had the most and best chances. Iverson stopped us going in at half time, 2-4. They missed an absolute sitter , and Iverson made another blinding save before our winner. No worries for me after that.
If it's the sign of a promotion team to win when not playing well, then that bodes well for the future. Reminded me of a game under Ronnie. A 4-3 victory over Swindon, when Mark Robin's won the match on his own, when many of the side were very under par.
IMO both teams were equally matched. We all know we were playing at 80% of what we have over the past 6 week.
3 games in a week for both teams so no excuse regards fitness.
Keep it going rufc
Good summary Jake, pretty much how I saw it.
Couple of points.
When Wiles came on he helped us keep possession. And what a great layoff for Freddie's goal, perfect.
I actually thought Thompson had a decent game, although he did go missing for their first goal, no idea where, as there's only one camera with iFollow.
Yes, Barlaser not quite there today, but he is a class act at this level. Crooks the best midfielder on the pitch today despite his difficult week.
Really good to get 3 points when we wern't at our best. If they had scored that sitter at 2-2 it could have been different though. Thought their forward that missed the sitter (Akins?) looked quite handy for L1.
Oh, and that was definitely a free kick for the caught backpass. Not sure wether the lino was up with play though, sure the ref didn't see it from where he was.
I thought Burton were very effective in nullifying both wings - particularly Ogbene. Each time he had the ball they put one man on him and and another hanging off at right angles to Ogbene's left. I'm not sure why it worked because Ogbene usually pushes the ball to the right past the defender and outruns him. Today for some reason the presence of a second defender blocking his line of sight to his left unnerved him and he rarely got past.
Other teams will see this in their reruns of our game and will try the same thing. Warne needs to think how to overcome this tactic.
Interesting to hear the views of those who were there since most seem more negative than my own only having watched on I-Follow. I thought Burton were good value, gave us a game and came well prepared but for me we matched them pretty well. The difference was our fitness in the last 25 minutes when we were able to score a winner and then keep pressing them. To me, they seemed to fade and, while they did keep trying, their finesse slipped badly. We were comfortable with our lead; they failed to make their efforts count. Had Lucas Akins scored from point blank range and taken them to 3-2, the story might have been different.
I think some might have forgot that we missed a few chances
so could have won by more goals.
That’s the second time this week we have had a different ref to which EFL states will ref the game
