It must be awful what you are going through - is there any talk of loosening restrictions there Map?

Treating the issue as unimportant and using terms like "Project Fear" just shows how the minds of a lot of Brits work (or, more accurately, don't work).

It now seems likely that Britain will suffer an epidemic. Let's just hope that no one on this board, or their loved ones, are badly effected.

Thank God they are nowhere near running our country.
"Project Fear" number 405/2018/2020/03 is alive and kicking across the globe.

People becoming more aware and getting on top of the really unimportant stuff like animal extinction/climate change/child poverty/nuclear proliferation/human trafficking etc. etc. needed a response from the global elite to get them back under control.

"Let's have a pandemic that will get the beggars back into line!" - UN/WHO/White House circular number 405/2018/2020/03.

Who knows BT, schoolgirls lecturing politicians on climate change perhaps, while they sit enthralled listening to her infantile drivel. Nah, couldn't happen, the insanity doesn't run that deep yet.......does it ?

Here we go again, the Remoaner's powers of telepathy not undimmed by us leaving the EU. Go on then, you know all about the workings of the British mind apparently, how many is a lot, how many Brits have minds that don't work ? Hundreds ? Thousands ? Millions ? 17.4 million ?
I don't know the exact figure Mon Ami. But anyone who claims that coronavirus is a cunning plot by the world leaders, and the info that comes out labelled as "Project Fear" really need to give their head a wobble.
To put it in context...flu normally kills 0.1% of the population who get it. Coronavirus is killing around 2%. That's 20 times more.
If it becomes an epidemic, which is looking likely, then it would be very serious, and if you wish to blame the world leaders then that's your choice but I would argue that you would be deluding yourself.

For what it's worth 59, I don't buy into the conspiracy theory at all, not sure why you're suggesting I do, but to jump from a couple of posters on here suggesting there may be a 'project fear' aspect to it, to claiming that a lot of Brits are brain dead is quite a jump, even for a member of an extreme left-wing political party that holds the people of this country in such contempt that they want to disenfranchise 17.4 million of us.

thats right - 59'....we're free to think what we like..... some are always ready to believe what they're fed by MSM or Governments, as can't believe they have an agenda - or would manipulate it to fit - thats what they rely on....others, they prefer to decide for themselves, to connect the dots, that more often than not, reveal a very broken image... certainly, not the whole picture they pretend it to be.... .

as for the corny - virus....it seems it on the wane - as it would be anyway, as it doesn't like warmth or humidity....but then thats no fun for the fearmongers - who've just told us that the hospitals could be overflowing because an old lady with existing health issues died from it...."apparently" .

“This is not the first respiratory virus epidemic or pandemic we’ll see, nor will it be the last,” said infectious disease specialist Anita Sircar, MD, Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center in California.

“It’s too easy to believe everything that’s posted on Facebook or Twitter and get swayed into hysteria. Educating yourself on what’s happening is the strongest weapon against panic,” she added.

The outbreak is serious, but if you’re living in the United States, the odds are that the everyday flu is a much more serious risk to your health.

At this point, the seasonal flu carries much greater odds of killing you while in the United States than the novel coronavirus recently identified in Wuhan, China.

“So far this season in the U.S. [there’s been] a mortality rate from flu-like illnesses and pneumonia of around 7 percent,” Charles C. Bailey, MD, infectious disease specialist with St. Joseph Hospital, told Healthline.

“This should be compared to the 11 cases so far documented for 2019-coronavirus with no deaths,” he said. “Clearly if there’s no panic concerning the current flu season which is a fairly normal one, panic over domestic 2019-coronavirus situation doesn’t seem justified at present.”

the losses are sad - but the loss of sense...is sadder.

    Cheers.

Whoops, sorry Sinkov - wrong bloke.

I miss arguing the toss about Brexit and I was getting excited that perhaps we could have a similar set to about this.

    False alarm. As you were.

You get your lot to start worrying about the 165000 citizens of the UK who died from cancer in 2019? Surely Jo could swindle up a few bob to help eradicate cancer? Whoops! Sorry I forgot she is now even more irrelevant than ever.
