Football 0 Potentially life threatening virus 1
Football said “ We can’t argue with the result”
Not sure it is a cold, however, am I totally missing something. Now, one has to self isolate even if you just sneeze, wheeze or clear your throat. Bet pepper sales have gone through the roof. This germ war fare could certainly take off. We’d all be in our beds taking Beechams Powders when the Ruskies and Chinese march in.
God help us, we’re all going to die. Well not all I guess.![]()
Well put Boingy.
Too blasé an attitude from many.
I suffer with throat and upper respiratory issues with a normal cold so I’m s h I t t ing myself at the thought of getting it.
I’m cancelling my holiday to Boston and New England in September.
Might as well do it before Trump does it to me!
Apart from washing my hands more often and more vigorously I am keeping calm and carrying on as normal. I don't think that is me being blasé it's just me reacting to my own circumstances. Next hols is to Israel in May not intending to cancel atm. This could all change tomorrow,
Malta has declared anyone arriving from abroad will have to self isolate for 14 days so in effect no one holidaying in Malta. Dramatic stuff.

I also am not blasé. I have always been a regular hand washer, even after a hand shake, I seek a toilet, hand wash etc. I also react to my circumstances. This week I have had four days of extreme headaches that I have only just manage to well manage. People are using this as an excuse to not go to work. If you have underlying health issues then take extra care. If you are healthy take extra care. Simple.
It appears I will have lost around 10k if I cancel all the planned hols we have this year. Not going to cancel. Might not go, but until it is cancelled officially by the companies or Government one has little hope of a refund.
So sit tight, stay safe and take note of all the best available info. And don’t panic. It’s just not the British way.
The fact that the whole world is taking it seriously is the clue. We don't have a vaccine, we don't know who can die with it although older and vulnerable especially with respiratory problems (like my wife and myself both with asthma) I've almost died without this virus. The WHO said the other day that tragically some young people have died from it though not usually the case. You can't be complacent about it. Like Mick I am worried about getting it as a report from Italy I read said that 50% of your alveoli gets affected, that's 50% too much for me. I am just carrying on as normal but taking no risks whatsoever.
My gardener thought it was a huge joke when I told him to use the hand sanitiser before coming in for a p I s s today and the postman looked aghast when I told him just to drop our mail and parcel inside the front door.
People are not “getting” it.
I reckon by the time it’s over at least one of us on this forum will be killed by it and most of us will at least know someone who knows someone who’s lost somebody.
When I was sick a year ago with a respiratory illness ( the sort of which I’d had many times before ) I had to use an inhaler for the first time at 57 years of age.
Struggling for breath is the most scary thing I’ve ever known.......the not knowing if you can get another breath in is enough to induce a heart attack in itself.
Not sure why the missus insists on hiding that inhaler.
My heavy cold was very tongue in cheek, always a problem with text , it’s very difficult to gauge a tone .
My point is though there’s many things that can kill us all
Influenza kills 10,000 a year
Cancer kills many hundreds of thousands
The list is endless ,
Since when does this stop us , this great British public, going out , pub , footie , cricket ect....
I’d be extremely sad to hear on here that somebody had passed away because after contracting this virus , it saddens me that anyone has died of it .
We still need to Carry on and do stuff
Anyway I hope you all remain well and normal service returns swiftly
I do hope trump gets it though .......and maybe corbyn
Tudle pips![]()
Mickd, we will all know someone who has died from this by the time it is over, because, it will never be over. This is a virus that will continue forever or at least until mankind can find a medicine that can eradicate it. Just deal with the reality and take precautions. Today they could easily have lost someone because Doctors were so concentrated on the Corona virus they nearly missed what was bleeding obvious to loved ones. Gowns, masks etc caused so much apprehension as they thought the worst. Ends up chap sent home Not cv-19, not meningitis.
Panic, panic. For Christ sake. It is a Media and social media frenzy with Governments so worried about image.
It is here. It is not going to go away. Just take proper steps to keep yourself and others safe. Simple. Stop the scaremongering and bloody live.
