Although the symptoms are similar to that of flu, it’s the death rate that is the significant difference.
So no it’s not an over reaction.
IMO there is no point closing schools at the minute as the evidence presented so far suggests young healthy people survive in all cases identified. Your odds get worse the further past the age of 40 you go. Closing schools will place a pressure on working families and the likelihood is grand parents will step up, and it puts these at huge risk not our children. That said I am fully expecting that the Easter half term will be extended from 2 weeks to 3 or possibly 4 weeks.
