Compare the words of Jurgen Klopp

“First and foremost we have to do what we can to protect one another. In society, I mean. This should be the case all the time in life, but in this moment I think it matters more than ever. I’ve said before that football always seems the most important of the least important things, and today football and football matches really aren’t important at all.

Of course we don’t want to play in front of empty stadiums and we don’t want games or competitions suspended, but if doing so helps one individual stay healthy – just one – we do it no questions asked.

If it’s a choice between football and the good of the wider society it’s no contest, Really, it isn’t. ''

    With Pfeffel's

"We are going to lose loved ones'' as we do next to nothing and trick people with the 'herd immunity' and the 'fatigue' line which they last trotted out so successfully with Brexit . Yes, while the rich are all holed up safely, they see the rest of us as cattle and sheep and accept that many of the herd will have to snuff it, you know, the older ones, the weaker ones, the ones that aren't much use anyway.

One of these responses is truly humane the other borderline evil. Can you spot which is which?

... what pushes me off are those who try to politicise this issue. When BG delivers his message it's about the facts. If, in X weeks time, several '000's have died there will be those who say you never told us that would happen ... can't win! Also, the effing media are at it, as usual, trying to say that Gov has u turned over stopping major events. Sorry, it was corporate leaders who panicked into this move ... too soon. F the lot of them!

Over-reaction. It’s the flu - end of story. The countries that are enforcing draconian measures are currently having internal issues and the States of Emergencies that are being drawn up, are being used to suppress dissent.

It reminds me of the hysteria over WMD.

Over 250 died in Italy yesterday, flu doesn't kill that many people in one day. Nothing good can come of this virus, my only hope is that goverments around the world sit up and take notice to protect future generations..........instead of spending money on weapons of mass destruction, spend it on research.

Although the symptoms are similar to that of flu, it’s the death rate that is the significant difference.
So no it’s not an over reaction.
IMO there is no point closing schools at the minute as the evidence presented so far suggests young healthy people survive in all cases identified. Your odds get worse the further past the age of 40 you go. Closing schools will place a pressure on working families and the likelihood is grand parents will step up, and it puts these at huge risk not our children. That said I am fully expecting that the Easter half term will be extended from 2 weeks to 3 or possibly 4 weeks.

A friend of mine has just emailed me to tell me what happened to him in a well known supermarket in Central Manchester today.

He asked an employee on Aisle 8 if there was any toilet paper. The polite employee said no there wasn't, but if he went to the Information Desk, they could possibly help him further.

On arriving there another well mannered employee, said as far as they understood, the store was 'out of toilet paper'.

My friend said he is going to check in future before he takes a poo in the Customer toilet at that branch again.

The biggest threat to this planet is over population.

As we find more ways to help us live longer, produce more babies and do more damage to our environment, Mother Nature invariably fights back.

Italy has an older population and a higher smoker rate than many other European countries, hence they are more likely to have a higher death rate from the virus.
