It's just fun to hear the bin dippers whinge about how unfair everything is, nothing more to it. Now the red manks, that is a team I detest.
There were far more southern accents about than Scouse at the Heysel. As rA said, the stadium was antiquated and unfit for purpose. The area behind the goal where it all kicked off was designated dangerous and was supposed to be kept empty. On the night there were a lot of people without tickets. The Stadium authorities, UEFA and the local police decided to let them all into the "empty" area. There were maor Italians than English in that end. The Italians started breaking up the terraces and throwing the concrete at the English fans. Then a couple of English fans were stabbed and carried out. The Scousers didn't like it one bit. Then an Italian fan pulled out a pistol and fired it. It turned out to be a starting pistol. That was when the English fans went over the fence and what happened after that is well known. They weren't totally innocent but nowhere near as guilty as some appear to think.
Every single club has its minority of moronic support but I’d say that’s a particularly fair appraisal, MA.
I’d also add to my list of ‘prejudices’ the ‘tw@ts’ who are already profiteering out of selling grotesquely overpriced essentials like hand sanitiser etc. Such ‘people’ deserve a bloody good hiding imo.
I question your events time line in places mucker. I remember the starting pistol and it was AFTER the riot had already occured. The teams had been removed from the pitch long before it.
History firmly leans at scousers being the main cause of that.

the virus causing mayhem?
How long before Rolls Royce uses this as an excuse, to make massive redundencies again and renegotiate everyones contracts with more hours less pay etc?
9/11 was like a starter pistol for them and that could pale to insignificance compared to this.
It will be fine theres the Working Time directive which prevents extended working hours...oh perhaps there wont be after 31 Dec this year!
I see you quoting dodgy internet sources again as if they are gospel! Given the article you quote, says the stadium was derelict from the 1930's perhaps its not exactly 100% accurate?
Oh really?
My BIL, works there. Lost his job after 9/11. Taken back on again, with reduced benefits, 24 hr/7 day working, indirect pressure to work on request, absense points system, that not only is a rolling tot up but counts against a hit list for redundency. Oh hangon a minute, they did all this whilst under your Empires working directives.
Still don't let your bias rule your opinion Fail. Extended working hours my ass, it's as required to get the job done. As said before, not everyone sits behind a desk, sharpening pencils to 5 pm.
As for the stadium, that was one of many. That one being the history channel from Sky. Perhaps, Sky tv needs to come to you first for advice?
