    My view is slightly different.

It’s a free country and if you want to be a moron and be with other morons in a packed space such as a pub then that’s your lookout.

I had this argument with my 81 year old mum yesterday.

“They’re not stopping me doing what I want to do and going out with my friends” she said.

I said to her......”that’s fine mum but how will you feel if you give the virus to your best friend who’s 89 year old husband is having cancer treatment?

“Oh and by the way........you won’t be coming around our house on a Sunday!

The intransigence of some old people and the stupidity of the young and others who should know better astounds me.

I’ve cut my contact down to my wife and son and I’m going to stick to it.

My strongest point is my personal discipline I guess.

In your situation Al you should be staying home and insisting your wife does the same.

You have said it in one Mick!! Voluntarily is a no nonsense compared with enforcement - it is with many morons in this country!! Did you see the Brits in Benidorm on the news - no doubt soon to be coming back one way or other!

My Mrs is like your mum sadly - she needs to wake up and smell the coffee. If someone mentions another strain of flu again I will erupt - you simply need to say does flu cripple a county like Italy with another 350 dead. Disappointed in Boris and he looked anything but decisive and kept looking at Whitty or f uck whit!!

Boris will be damned by some whatever he does. It seems to me that he is following advice from the experts. It’s all about delaying the peak of the crisis and thus saving lives. How the government and the experts are judged will depend on the long term outcome. To criticise Boris now is a bit silly, I think, and I’m not a Boris fan and didn’t vote for this government.

Evening Ketts - never criticised him before but thought his update was embarrassing. Perhaps our scientists know far more than every other scientist from every other country including the US and China!

Urging the public not to go to the pubs is fine for those who are educated and sensible. Pubs near us are busy tonight so that’s what happens when you have no balls to enforce!! On the contrary - I take my hat off to Ireland and the US - forty odd cases in Florida which is roughly the size of the U.K. and they close Disneyworld which has hundreds of thousands of footfall. All enforcement and closure is better than nothing or asking idiots to be responsible!

Do you really think all the over 70’s will self isolate? Will they hell and some are fitter than anybody especially a 72 year old I know who plays tennis like Nadal!

All members of a family stay at home if you have a cough! My son has a cough and he’s gone out playing football tonight and he says many have coughs.

Seeing Boris at that update with Witty ( f uck Whit ) and the other boring chap - well it looked like a comedy show!

I hate Corbyn but at least he can get his f uckin words out unlike Boris!

You know, I agree with you.

Credit where its due, I'm quite impressed with this Rishi Sunak guy. He speaks calmly and intelligently. They have made some interesting financial decisions in the last 24 hours. But, they still need to go further and help renters in particular. There are still plenty of people and businesses who are fearful of their finances. But this is a step in the right direction.

And, even though I still don't believe a single sentence Boris says. He is at least answering questions and justifying/being held accountable for the decisions the Government are making.

I think the reaction from them was slow initially, but now I'm happy to give them the benefit of the doubt given this is an unprecedented situation. I really do hope they make the correct decisions from herein, having said that I am no expert on this - so I don't know what those decisions are or where this pandemic will take us. What I do know, is the most vulnerable in society and our business and economy need protection and support. Let see what the next few days brings.
