People who said crap like "Yeah, I smoke like a chimney, but then I could get run over by a bus tomorrow".

So we have all these other threats to health - most of them avoidable.
Now we have a new one which is killing hundreds or thousands and will be hard for many of us to avoid.
And you say it is being blown out of all proportion.

Well mate, I'm in the "at risk" age group and doing all I can to stay safe.
But be sure of one thing - if I pop my clogs I am coming back and will haunt the f*** out of you!
but it isnt killing hundreds and thousands
you may be at the at risk group and quite right you should do everything you can just like the rest of us which means cleaning hands etc

less than 1% of those that catch it die from it

cancer has a far worse survival rate

    you wont haunt me
    if you go you go
    we all die eventually

i hope they take out the usuall winter deaths from the eventuall total

    people say shut schools
    why
not one child under the age of 11 has died from the virus

and the people were right if they chose to smoke they put themselves and those around them under threat
and they could have got run over by a bus
but the fact remains even this far into the virus you are more likely to know someone who has been diagnosed with cancer than caught the virus

and the survival rate from the virus is a lot higher than cancer
so i know what i would prefer

The Robert Koch Institute here in Germany today raised the risk to high.

You just carry on burying your head in the sand, keep thinking it's all OK so long as you keep yourself clean and don't cough on anyone and it will be all hunky dorey.
    geordie

i accept they are not contagius
but this virus isnt a death sentance

1% die from it and some of them from underlying illness

i met someone today who has had it and dint know he had

    the risk might be high
it could be extremly high for all i care

    it isnot a death sentance

people are focusing on the deaths yet as i say less than 1%has died from it
making it a lot lot safer than riding a motorcycle or getting cancer

we need to catch it to build an imune system to it

so put the ones at high risk away and let the rest get on with life

im not burying my head in the sand
im not running around like most of the snowflakes thinking the sky is falling in

For what they do, yes they are for years - I know that for a fact.

Under valued and under paid now they are expected to continue working on the front line.
