Now matter how well/badly the current crisis is handled, it won’t make up for those.
Or maybe being prudent all those years has given us the means to better handle this crisis financially.

A modern day Plague. This will be spoken about in decades and centuries to come on what/what not to do. Science is evolving but so is how fiscal policies are determined.

It will take years for many systems to recover and something will go by the wayside. Greta can really say her future has been stolen and it won't be global warming, the downturn in activity will provide what she's been shouting about.

How, could they see into the future?

The current situation will prove to be a case of the rich/business owners/Tories hating socialism until they need it.

Privatise the profits, socialise the losses.

What was the note the guys at the Treasury left for the Tories to pick up? With no money in the coffers at that time how would Gordon have tackled this current issue?

It is always good sense to have something in reserve for when the unexpected happens. That sometimes means going without and it was going without some things that have enabled me to build up a bit of a pot of emergency money which I now need as my investments are down so much that they cannot provide the income to keep me going.

What, prudence like spending the last decade running the NHS into the ground? We can't just wave a few quid and pluck doctors, nurses and hospital beds out of thin air. The criminal mismanagement of the NHS since the Tories came to power will cost many lives in the coming weeks and months.
