Israeli researchers are at the forefront of medical innovation to offer new solutions in the fight against the novel coronavirus outbreak.
British company diagnostics.ai, whose research and development is entirely based in Herzliya, is already providing labs in the UK and US with their advanced diagnostic technique, employing artificial intelligence for faster and more accurate results.

What diagnostics.ai has developed is truly automatic and can analyze any virus or bacteria.
Once the biological specimen is analyzed, which takes 40 minutes to an hour, the results are almost instantaneous, and they are fed to the hospital information system right away.

This new testing method enables the testing of people with no symptoms and for dozens of tests to be carried out at once, ultimately accelerating efforts in curbing the virus.

Here in Lancashire we seem to be escaping the worst of it so far, just 24 confirmed cases from over 1.2 million people. Or is it that the NHS in Lancashire hasn't got it's act together on testing yet ?

The guidelines say that if you think you have got it then don't contact the NHS - simply self isolate.

So these people will not show up on the official figures.

I think we need to be ready for a large rise in figures from now on but we should remember that the vast majority it will be like having a bad cold.

I think it could actually help us to re-evaluate what is really important in our lives and people will become closer to their families and friends, even if only on the phone or internet.

But there are also plenty of selfish p1llocks who are panic buying despite being fully aware of the impact of their actions on the more vulnerable.

Yes, probably true, however, it has just shown how warped society has become with lots of self-centred people who do not give a jot for those outside of their small circle, in fact, they probably even ignore a lot of those too!
Don't expect any miracles to happen after all this is over, nothing much will change ---sadly!

    Latest News.

According to the latest data of the Italian National Health Institute ISS, the average age of the positively-tested deceased in Italy is currently about 81 years. 10% of the deceased are over 90 years old. 90% of the deceased are over 70 years old.

80% of the deceased had suffered from two or more chronic diseases. 50% of the deceased had suffered from three or more chronic diseases. The chronic diseases include in particular cardiovascular problems, diabetes, respiratory problems and cancer.

The Italian Institute of Health moreover distinguishes between those who died from the coronavirus and those who died with the coronavirus. In many cases it is not yet clear whether the persons died from the virus or from their pre-existing chronic diseases or from a combination of both.

Northern Italy has one of the oldest populations and the worst air quality in Europe, which has already led to an increased number of respiratory diseases and deaths in the past and is likely an additional risk factor in the current epidemic.

South Korea, for instance, has experienced a much milder course than Italy and has already passed the peak of the epidemic. In South Korea, only about 70 deaths with a positive test result have been reported so far. As in Italy, those affected were mostly high-risk patients.

Furthermore, according to a first Chinese study, the internationally used virus test kits may give a false positive result in some cases. In these cases, the persons may not have contracted the new coronavirus, but presumably one of the many existing human coronaviruses that are part of the annual (and currently ongoing) common cold and flu epidemics.

As always Norder we will discover there will be reports of dozens and dozens of missing and confused data. Using problematic data that has not been properly evaluated both quantitively and qualitatively is about as much use as my grandma's old chocolate teapot.
