O/T Coronavirus Thread

Country's with. How do I say this with starting a political debate. Let's say urm. No can't say Communist state. Lets say lower STD of humanitarian rights. Will control the virus better as they don't think twice about locking down city's and sticking the army on the streets..
If you want to say what you want, when you want and where you want we will have to ride the virus train a little longer.

Say what youre thinking Cayton, because its relevant. Its a mixed message from me and simply my thoughts having I travelled regularly out there. But, got to say, I dont hold the rights to truth of China.

Some cultural ideals are deep rooted from the communist doctrine. But for the best I think. They have a strong loyalty to the state, a love of the country, their family and fellow citizens. So when something like this happens its natural for them to rally together in the way that we've seen which we dont we dont really understand in the West. I think you are skirting round saying this; you think they do it because they are sh*t of the state and its consequences. I think its different - I think its genuinely out of real respect for their fellow citizens.

Chinese people are being misresented in the Western media. The people I meet out there are fantastic (and its a mix of people I meet from factory owners, their major suppliers, workers and their friends). They are all decent, honest and very hard working. They have a great sense of humour and a great sense of fun - always laughing. The work environment is generally relaxed and happy. They enjoy a good night out and, by eck, can they drink.

The country is going through a massive period of change. The place seems to open up still further each time I go. Many areas becoming more westernised by the day. The major cities are fantastic. While you this amazing economic revolution is going on, the people remain humble and respectful.

There is a relaxed vibe about the place where there is no feeling of any threat from the government - athough, to qualify this, I would never put my name to any criticism of the state.

I don't think anyone is attacking the Chinese people, Wan.

Irrespective of how one would charcterise the politics of the country (which are irrelevant) it is a state that does not like to admit fallibility. That is why it sought to silence the doctors who tried to blow the early whistle on Covid rather than address it. It's probably unlikely, but if the Chineses had acted when the outbreak was limited they might have stopped it in its tracks.
