Ive got us with over a thousand more fatalities if we in the UK have the same number of known infections as the Italians .

Yes I know there are variables within two different country's but all the same .....

The figures are meaningless really as it depends how good a country is at testing for cases and that varies so much its comparing apples with oranges.

That's fair enough John but our testing is practically non existent at the moment .

Not disputing your view just saying .

Well, I personally know 2 people who had had the virus so far, neither has been tested or reflected in the figures.

That means there are many many thousands more.

In reality, the death rate is probably quite similar as the biology of humans is the same throughout the world. If anything its probably higher in Italy if its been more prevalent in a community with an older population and its health care system has (so far) been more over stretched than ours.

Weird situation for us. We’re in the middle of renovating our house so although we’re not going out as much we have tradespeople of several nationalities in and out of our house every day for the foreseeable future.

You are wrong. 1 death per 11 cases in Italy, 1 death per 22 cases in the UK.

I dont think the virus recognised nationalities. But, seriously, its high risk having people in and out the house. Could you put the build on hold for 2 months or is that not possible?

Not really, kitchen and all 3 bathrooms demolished and all our furniture is outside as we had all the floor tiles ripped up. We are having hurricane rated windows and doors fitted and the weather and humidity is ramping up nicely for hurricane season. Just what we need 😊.

I've just read something from a medical guy who reckons we are going to hit 9k fatalities by the beginning of April .

That's his opinion based on the present model and government policy .

I'm not going to dispute what he says and neither am I going to agree with him .

My own personal thoughts are leaning towards a total lockdown very soon .

Do your shopping for food and provisions and absolutely nothing else .

I personally think the economy is not even on the agenda .

    Lives surely come first .

This isn't great to read , I neither disagree or agree with him but it's worth putting it out there none the less .
