I never know when to take you seriously Alf.

George Best was my role model. He provided me with the perfect excuse to get laid as often as possible and drink two litres of Vodka a day and look what happened to him.

A role model ? A genius Yes : with a massive flaw who got a second chance and still cocked it up, Very sad indeed.

Today’s players though really should know better, educated to keep from the public eye as well not like when George was a superstar.

I suppose in one respect it was sad that George popped his clogs so young, but we all only have one life and I suspect George packed more fun and enjoyment into his short one than most of us will if we live to be 90. If he could start all over again, I doubt he would do it much differently.

I recall an interview he gave to Michael Parkinson on live TV. George had obviously enjoyed the best of what the Green Room could offer and he recounted the tale when he had won a sizeable amount of cash in the casino and it was spread on the bed alongside a former Miss World contestant. Room service had been ordered and when a seriously intoxicated Manchester United star player opened the door, the waiter asked George, "My, my George where did it all go wrong?"

The one who calls himself the special one (I call him a complete knob) has now joined Walker and Grealish by training a player in a park.

Anyway, I have not looked at all the threads yet so it may have already been posted, and I wouldn't know which one to put it on anyway, but its a reasonable read, I never knew Derby County were paying £700,000 to Tom Ince’s mum as an academy scout because that doesn’t count to FFP.”
