Those biased right-wing information/news sources exist without a doubt, but so do many biased left-wing information sources. Each has their own group of followers chatting to each other and posting comments on the bottom half of the internet reaffirming their own opinions. And even the information/news sources which market themselves as giving a balanced view are not really doing that. Many statistics and 'facts' are open to dispute, and every interpretation of them contains a degree of bias.

The best thing to do is read/listen/view across all of the information sources to see how each of them interprets a situation, and then reach your own conclusions, which of course will be influenced by your own individual life experiences and values.

The old false equivalence fallacy. Have you seen the front of The Sun for the past couple of days? The biggest selling publication in the country? There’s coverage of Johnson there that North Korea would be ashamed of.

There’s nothing ‘left-wing’ that equates to that. Or even close. And that’s without getting into debate about liking being lied to, or the current crisis being a ‘media event’, or trying to compare Guido Fawkes and the Guardian as reliable sources of political information. Yes, correct, get your news/info from a range of different publications, but also have a decent idea about which are in any way reliable and which aren’t.

I think there’s a few on here who get their views from bullish!t right wing newspapers/alt right websites where one viewpoint is allowed and everyone agrees with each other and feeds into each other’s fevered imaginations.

Tarquin’s drunken rantings are what happens when those views are challenged and pointed out as the nonsense they are by the likes of Driller. .

Oh I don't know, the Mirror does its best to compete. As far as I know nobody is forced to buy The Sun, but if the highest numbers choose to do so then that's up to them. And if you seriously don't think the Coronavirus crisis has been 'media event' then I dread to think what level of saturation coverage would be required to qualify as such!
