Completely agree. To raise the amount he has is a phenomenal achievement and I believe the figure is going to rise substantially in the coming days. He got to 15m in next to no time and has support from all over the world as his story goes viral.

Captain Tom Moore is going to go down as a legend and hopefully when he gets to 100 he gets knighted the guy deserves it and nobody would begrudge it I certainly wouldn’t.

To start with the aim of getting £1k he has got over £15m for the NHS is an incredible achievement.

Sir Tom Moore should be his title now.

My thoughts on the Royal family are that most in the Royal line take the piss at the tax payers expense.

That said I also appreciate the value that royals like the queen add to tourism income. So it seems you can’t have one without the other.

Maybe, maybe not. The only way you would get an answer is to know how many tourists visit London specifically because of the Royal Family. Anyone who goes within a mile Buckingham Palace is used by some as "the queen generating tourist income", but if we had no monarchy would they really all stay away?
