He’s added that hoariest of chestnuts about the royal family earning their keep through tourism. He’s definitely right as Paris is the most visited city in the world, and we all knooow how much the French love their royals.
Factually incorrect by the way. Bangkok was in 2018 and Hong Kong was in 2019. It’s ok. You can apologise later

Fair enough, I got that one wrong. Ok maybe we should become a international destination synonymous with prostitution. That obviously attracts the crowds.

May I also add that Paris has only just over taken London for the first time in 2019. So for all the other years London attracted more visitors than Paris who last year sneaked ahead.

It isn't just about tourism how many large foreign deals have been pushed through because of a visit from or a meeting with the Queen or Prince Charles? William and Kate are the new golden couple how many charities thrive thanks to royal patronage.
I agree there are to many hangers on with the minor royals.

Bloody hell, has seriouspie hacked your account? I don't doubt for a minute that many large foreign deals have been pushed through because of a visit from or a meeting with the Queen or Prince Charles (let's leave Prince Andrew out of this).

I would however doubt whether it's ethical for our Royal Family to prostitute themselves in order to secure business deals.

I thought we were supposed to be the brilliant Brits, surely we are good enough to do it without them?

Wasn’t it Prince Andrew’s job to be a ‘business ambassador’?

    That turned out well.

Who’s paying him to sit around on his arse btw? Not just a scrounging layabout, but a noncing scrounging layabout.

I see you missed out the bit about minor royals I put on my thread in your quote.( Prince (odious Andrew) being one of them.
It doesn't matter to me whether you find it odious or not I think the senior royals benefit this country and millions I am sure agree.
The serious pie reference was a bit pathetic.

I bet the government either Labour or Conservative are delighted when the royals 'prostitute' themselves (your words not mine) to get a major deal through that creates jobs and benefit the country.

Which ‘major deal’ have the royals helped facilitate that has created jobs and benefited the country?
