Club Statement re: DUSF

sorry mike what hard working volunteers have i bad mouthed? I've said on here many times, please check historical threads that i admire the work that AT have done for the youth set up and charities my issue was during the ST reign where the associate director and the trust were far too quiet and any time anyone asked what was happening they were met with 'join the trust and ask' not good enough.

I really didnt think you would mention hospo after the carry on that caused on facebook, that was a disaster for you guys!

I may have a history of snide remarks but atleast i dont have a history like yours as for bullying one individual who would that be?

We're all ordinary united supporters some like me are happy to be a supporter and others want the club tie and the press interviews but each to their own

You know Jim, it is a sad fact of life being a football supporter that we're anxious to know about the rumour and gossip. Who are we signing? Who's playing in defence today? Why has this strip been picked? Is it time to sack the manager? How much are season tickets? etc....
People like us are desperate for this information. That's why so many fans post, visit and read social media sites like this one.

However, when certain folk are privileged to know this information it fosters a huge resentment if it isn't shared. Breeds a huge amount of jealousy. This in itself causes huge friction between fan groups. Everyone wants to "be in the know". Nothing to be ashamed of as it applies at every football club. Information is power. A lot of people have never accepted that ArabTRUST achieved a major milestone by getting a representative in the Boardroom. Hence the crazy demands from committee of Federation DUSC to relinquish the role.

There are often sound practical business reasons why it isn't shared but a significant number of ordinary fans, like yourself do from time to time make unreasonable demands especially if things are not going well on the park. Also make lots of false assumptions with little evidence.

You in particular, believe you had access to key info in the past and therefore have a right to contribute to decision making process because you know a few guys who organise buses to games, you attend a few games, home and away, you're a mod on a forum, you're an expert on Dundee United. A super fan.

I think the club, or rather whoever initiated and insisted putting out that statement made a mistake. Should have kept it behind closed doors. No need to make it public.

I have to say some of this stuff I have read from those purporting to represent the Foundation have been ridiculous. I’m talking about the ain on TEK in particular.

Personally I am sick to the back teeth of all these groups manoeuvring and jostling for position to their own ends. Whilst I seriously considered supporting and being involved I am so glad I am not.

Like thousands of others am a Dundee United supporter, that’s it. Not remotely interested in any of this s.hite, which looks like it has potential to cause more bother for the club, yet again.

Ogren has been a breath of fresh air and nearly everything that had been done since he arrived had been for the better on and off the park

The relationship between the players, staff, him with the fanbase has been strong and I believe it still is so hoping this sideshow blows over asap.

I don’t see any resentment and any jealousy towards anyone in the know. If you know, you know, you don’t you don’t.

I’ve not had access to any key info, nothing over and above what’s posted on here and social media, I’m not interested either, unlike yourself I don’t care about a club tie, a press interview, portrayed as ‘fans chief’ I couldn’t care less Mike, all I care about is how my club performs on the park and off it. I will along with others question things, why wouldn’t I? I wouldn’t dare class myself as a super fan no where near it. Just an ordinary lad from this city that supports his home team. Going back to 2017 the silence from AT was deafening and questions were asked of the trust and all we and everyone on here and I can easily go back and bring up the thread where yourself and altan said ‘join and we’ll speak to you’ that’s my issue with AT. At a time the club were in turmoil we had a fans associate director, 3rd biggest shareholder yet we were told f uck all cos we weren’t members. That’s not fake news that’s truth.

100%, don't know what they were thinking about. Particularly at a time when everything else is positive at the club. A very strange move.

With 600 members the average donation per Federation member works out at £166.67.
600 season tickets sold will net the Club approximately double the amount being offered by the Federation. With top league football on the horizon it's clear season ticket sales are likely to rise.
Can't help thinking the Steering Group have gone into negotiations with the Club with an over-inflated idea of their value to the Club. Their negotiating position is not particularly strong.
