It was implied a few weeks back by the NL that some clubs were making threats of legal action, presumably us included as we're the most likely to have some financial clout behind us at this level.

If Barrow were to go up by playing actual football, good luck to them, but under any other circumstances there will always be some legal loophole that we can use to go in two footed and I hope we do. It would be a total injustice to promote a club that was clearly about to be knocked off top spot, they'd have more justification promoting Harrogate. Momentum is everything in this game, Barrow's had gone into reverse.

because the EFL have the "invite" a team clause in their rules there would be no legal case whatsoever if they followed their rules.

Given that this season is at best inconclusive, Barrow being invited into the FL is actually more annoying than gifting Barrow promotion based on a championship they haven't won!

Is this the statement of an expert in legal matters or are you just trying to quell any opposition to your free pass into the Football League?

There may well be a process to invite a new member but I don't think this would rule out a legal challenge as to who has been invited. To be fair, they should invite the Phoenix Bury club.

It's our owners call whether or not to challenge a promotion being secured over a table rather than a football pitch, but I for one would like to make it known that there are supporters who would back them taking an ugly course of action and that they should not be made to feel guilty for doing so.

Bury cheated their way to promotion into L1 to such an extent that they ended up with the total [U next Tuesday in charge who willfully destroyed them. Plenty of clubs, ourselves included, have overspent in the past to gain an advantage, so it's not the worst crime of the century but if they were to come back in then that would set an interesting precedent. I suppose you could say that they have been demoted from L1 and that's a sufficient punishment and that they'd be more deserving of a return to the FL than Barrow, but to be chosen in place of us wouldn't be right at all. All things considered, we lost our place by being the 90th worst run club in the league in 2018/19, Yeovil 91st, Bury 92nd.

The one point that could change all this is if any other clubs go bust, and there's a few candidates for that at present.

If the EFL invite Barrow into the league I can't see them finishing the season, it is far more expensive to run a league club than a NL club even taking into account the promotion money.

Weren't Barrow one of the first clubs to furlough their players and staff because they have run out of money.

My thinking as well. Seems like fans won't be allowed back in grounds for some time and I think if they do get playing games behind closed doors, Notts will be ok with our fanbase if they make it pay per view.

I'd say that 11 centimetres above the UK average male height can reasonably be classed as tall.
