Not sure what NL think I doubt they are holding us hostage but it is the hardest league to get out of percentage wise as only champions can go up directly.

I just mentioned as a point you can do well on smaller gates if you are smart
Evidently so in the short term, longer term it's tough to sustain but who wouldn't take the run Swansea had, a club that traditionally had similar levels of support to us. For supporters, it's all about creating history and memories.

This is the hardest league to get out of and I'm not that confident we'd win it once it restarts, which is why I'm hoping our owners will take the NL on if they are going to choose to play the game of who who goes up and who stays down over a board meeting table. It's not a conspiracy theory to suggest that Barrow would be no loss to the NL and that losing Notts would have a tangible impact, particularly now that the financial goalposts have shifted due to the current crisis.

Hmmm - Notts may be in your words the Real Madrid of the NL.... but Barrow have been dubbed the Barcelona of Non-league this season.... by sections of the national press.

listen to that leaked from Bristol Rovers....
So we're already at a point where EFL clubs are asking questions of their players regarding contracts, and they're several weeks behind us before it starts to become a problem.

I'm confident Notts have fought as hard as they can to give us the best chance of promotion but I think we're fast approaching a point where Leagues One and Two (at least) are going to be a similar boat and this whole conversation is going to look academic.

That would be for your playing style presumably, rather than stature. But yes, I really should apologies for being so disrespectful to your club back up the thread. Unfortunately, if this game is taken off the pitch it's inevitably going to turn into a war of words and our owners are going to have to trash the opposition to some extent.

I was more interested in the 3 up, no relegation bit - that would leave L2 with 21 clubs - which might mean 3 up from the NL to get it back to 24 - which might put Barrow,Harrogate and Notts in L2 next season

Trash talking is to some extent just part of the banter around football....

I missed that bit. I'll laugh a lot if we're promoted anyway after all the mouth frothing some of our fans have done.

We'll all be laughing and there'll be no complaints, but it will not be fair on those clubs 4th, 5th etc. and I would not blame them one iota for kicking up a fuss about it.

I’m starting to think null and void might not be off the table as a lot of people think it is. I can’t see any football being played in June even if it’s the premier leagues ambition, the Dutch and French have binned it off, Germany delayed on decision. There’s so many challenges to even play behind closed doors, testing and the public’s reaction to players getting priority, players actually getting it and teams going into isolation, fears large groups of fans will turn up to grounds etc etc. I was optimistic at first but the more I see playing out the less I can see it happening.

The French have just awarded the title to PSG and 2 teams are getting relegated from their top league - all based on PPG.
The leaked EFL-Bristol Rovers thing says L1 and L2 won't be finished and will be settled on footballing merit (which means PPG) - so it won't be N+V - and the NL will take it's lead from the EFL.
