Grist there should have been a parliamentary debate before the lockdown, which in my opinion has been the wrong strategy.
Extremely qualified epidemiologists and experts have challenged the statistics and the strategy. I am not sure anyone on here comes close to their expertise,I certainly don't, yet these EXPERTS were ignored. The cowardice of the Labour party was monumental. After a kicking at the elections, they didn't have the balls to ask for a debate. The measures could still have been introduced but experts needed to be consulted and not just those tied up with certain organisations giving a kickback.
How can you know how serious a disease is until you have a base rate for infection?
If you tests 100 people positive and 10 die it looks serious.
If however 100,000 have got it and 10 die it is not as serious.
This guy explains it much better than me.

The health implications of the lockdown are going to be so big, they will be beyond analysis. The worst is still to come and it will last for decades.
This post is probably an act of subversion now. Democracy. It's pathetic.
No theory has ever been weakened by robust debate.
Kill debate and you kill democracy.
England is finished.
