Johnson is trying to distance himself from "austerity" by saying he won't say the word. He hasn't been so coy when voting for it ovva the last ten years.

I noticed Johnson was looking around for some support today when Starmer was nailing him on the death rate and in the care homes .

I have no idea whether Labour would have made a better fist of dealing with the crisis than the Tories.What I do know is that the Tories fiercely opposed the establishment of the NHS in the 1940's and did everything they could to stop it.
I also know since that time successive Tory governments have starved the NHS of resources.
In 2011 Andrew (now of course Lord) Lansley reorganised the NHS to make it competitive and efficient in the belief that competition increases efficiency. As though Doctors and Nurses go to work to compete! His final master stroke was to allow private companies, often American, to bid for NHS contracts with the aim of privatising the system.
A more recent government contribution in 2016 was to have a rehearsal for a pandemic. The conclusion was that the system would not be able to cope with it due partly to not having enough storage of PPE enough available beds. Of course they ignored the findings and carried on banging on about Brexit.

Between 1946 and its introduction in 1948, the British Medical Association (BMA) mounted a vigorous campaign against this proposed legislation.In one survey of doctors carried out in 1948, the BMA claimed that only 4,734 doctors out of the 45,148 polled, were in favour of a National Health Service

Report that the government are using a secret messaging app that permanently deletes text messages and can never be traced .

Two things here , all governments by law are obliged to record all business and provide traceability , whether it becomes public is another matter but it does have to be recorded .

Secondly an inquiry will take place at sometime in the future and the government will be asked to provide evidence that they acted in a manner they claimed they did .

Be fair Animal Cast your mind back to Hillsbro & how much time & effort went into altering Police notebooks
This idea is much better & saves valuable Ministers time in having to answer any awkward questions
