All the messages from Barrow & Harrogate a month ago was to continue playing only Boreham Wood didnt want to out of the top 5/7.

The season has now been cut short so the play offs are the only games possible to play.

Some fans have short memories I remember a few hoping Bury/Macclesfield go under so we could stay up last season.

If Notts were in the position of the top 2 I would be all for us trying to get promoted without playing again so I dont see why you are stunned by their soundbites.

Our fate is sealed if nobody drops out of league two and that is not right at all as its going to cause issues with Lg1 relegated teams and NL play off sides.

We as fans all want to play games but we cant control the decisions made by EPL/NL.

Hopefully an update from the National League. I suspect Barrow will be promoted and the play off positions will be determined by PPG.

Good news IMO. We would play Yeovil in the play-offs if it's applied to the NL.

To be clear for me our case is for the play-off games to be played at a suitable and appropriate time that it is safe to do so instead of cancelling the those games and allowing second placed Harrogate as the table stands to be promoted automatically.

I don't care if we have to wait until August, November or January to play these games. The new season can't start until its safe to do so either. The playoffs can take place two weeks before the new season begins. It just needs the will of affected clubs and their owners, staff and managers to put a case forward for it. Let's not forget the revenue and TV coverage money as well by having playoffs.

It's bad enough the remaining fixtures have not followed this methodology and have been cancelled. Even PPG has not been applied to the remaining games whether that would have worked in our favour or not it's still no substitute for playing the game on grass. But it would have been something rather than nothing.

To then cancel the playoffs would in sporting terms only be an incredibly disappointing and frustrating end to what was becoming a season in which things had come together for us and we had momentum at exactly the time we needed it.

If the worst came to the worst and the playoffs were cancelled and Harrogate were promoted as runners up, I hope that the quiet anger, annoyance and disappointment could be channeled by the club, it's players, staff and fans in a positive way in that it gives us that bite and fire to rip this league apart next season and go up as deserved champions.

If the playoffs go ahead they will have to be earlier than later because the promoted club will need a transfer window to get new players in.

That is the news I expected as if they didnt relegate anyone from league 2 it will cause issues with other teams in league 1 and NL.

Now that is decided we need the NL to say play offs will take place which in fairness they couldn't say anything until EFL.said what they are doing.

Looks like Ardley has effectively thrown the towel in.

Makes it easier for the NL to do exactly what Ardley will accept!
