Prob the same goes for Roly. I don't have problems party bashing bit same would need applying to doff the cap when /if it's reversed
    Good question Cayton.

I have no faith though that Boris will do this because firstly he is not likely to be in charge much longer.
And it depends what you mean by a good deal. For who? There is no way a tory govt is going to get a deal that will sort out the inequalities in this country. It wont happen. If it does then I will vote Tory because the Tories will have turned into a socialist party. Do you think they will?

Why would I make allowances for Labour atm, they’re not in number 10, they’re not running things.

Tell me Roly would you say the same things if it was labour in power?

    About what?

There was no one more critical of the Blair regime than me. If they are not helping/ defending the poor I will criticise any party including Labour. How many times have I said on here my most hated PM after Thatcher was Blair.

Even Boris aint as bad as Blair in that he does what it says on the tin. I expected him to be a bumbling buffoon and a lying toad and he has been. I expect better off Labour Mps. It is probably why a lot of people who normally vote Labour like Stovic have turned against em. My only argument with this is ,yes criticise Labour but dont jump out of the frying pan and into the fire by thinking the Tories will achieve the same for you as Labour would. It is not that straight forward. Just because there is a lack of choice at a general election doesnt mean that the other parties are going to be better. You have to judge them on their merit.

My own view is that parliamentary democracy is shyte but until someone comes up wi summat better you have to choose the best of a bad bunch. Interestingly what has happened with the corona virus has thrown up some potential seeds of change for the worlds political systems. I don't think we can ever go back to how we were, certainly not fully, and I think thats a good thing for the planet.

That's the problem Roly. Your not even giving johnson/torys the chance. you have dismissed it before even seeing what we end up with.
It reminds me of when May went for the 2nd vote on Brexit deal. Sky news asked a labour parliament member
"Which way are you voting" she replied NO. "I can't back that deal". The reporter then asked if she had read it which she responded. NO not yet but it will be the same as the last deal

Regards do I think Johnson will get a good deal. I'm not sure. I would hope he will. What I can't do is criticise him without seeing what he has to offer.
It's the same looking at covid. There is a few mistakes made but a lot of positive things they have also done. And hopefully going forwards the NHS will get the reform it desperately needs due to this tragedy.

Quite amused that Cummings and some on here are saying that the public anger on this is down to the media stirring it up.

I'm sure we established on here only two days ago that this was an arrogant and patronising stance to take and that the good public are more than capable of thinking for themselves?

    Which was is it guys?!

My cousin is suffering with covid 19. She is at home looking after there 11 year old son whilst her partner has just come off a ventilator in RDG hospital.

If she could have come to our house and gone and lived in the separate apartment then why wouldn't I do it? Why wouldn't any family do it to make sure that they're both watched over?

I think that it would be reasonable for her to do so.

I'm not sure the journey he was the problem for me. It was the fact he thought he and his wife had covid that potential could have endangered others plus the 30 mile trip to test his eyesight was a blatant lie.
For me it's a trust issue. I'm ok with him breaking the lock down rules, each to there own. but he has to face conciseness if caught. He got caught so he should step down.

Tbh I'm surprised that the police have not asked him why he thought it was appropriate to drive when he thought his vision was impaired and unsure if his vision was adequate to endure a long journey.
