    The FA Trophy

I know this competition is distinctly second priority, but we were just one step away from Wembley before the lockdown.
I haven't seen anything mentioned about it and there was nothing on the FA website, so I sent them an email and got this reply:

As it stands, this fixture has been postponed. However please rest assured that we are working with our partners and event owners to determine how best to reschedule any events that are postponed due to COVID-19. We will provide further updates as soon as we receive any confirmation.
    Best wishes,
    Customer Engagement Team

It tells us nothing really, apart from that the competition hasn't been cancelled yet. Maybe they will make the semi-finals a one-leg game at a neutral venue.

It's certainly more worthy of saving than the Daffy Duck Cup competition we used to waste our time with.

Could it be possible to play this seasons final on the same day as next seasons? this would mean that there is no rush to sort out the semis & if we get through it could mean a good day out in front of a decent crowd, surely better than playing at neutrals or bcd ?

Imagine if we are still national league next season and get to the trophy final again! Will have to field two different squads!! Sounds good to me!

There is no chance this will go ahead. I feel for the 2 teams in the other semi final. One of them had the opportunity that could have provided financial stability for a few years. These 2 teams won’t have any players on the books at the moment and certainly couldn’t afford the wonga required for testing etc. So in my opinion we should be delighted to have a crack at the playoffs. The 4 teams that made the semis should be provided a split of prize Money or should all 4 teams still be in non-league then the semi final and finals for this seasons cup can be played once fans can attend. But it simply can’t be played before then IMO.The lure of the Trophy is a day out at Wembley and the financial rewards for getting there.

Play it before the playoffs. One leg. Toss a coin for venue or neutral venue. Someone’s training ground would do since twill be BCD. Both teams would get a well needed competitive game before the playoffs.

I'd rather we go into the play offs without any injuries. Gaining our FL status is far more important than the FA trophy. Play it after maybe.

I'm pretty confident the FA Trophy will happen. The difference to the league issue is that if it comes to a vote all remaining participants (including the FA) have a strong vested interest in its completion and would be willing to find a solution. It also has to its advantage that there is no rush to play, it can be played at anytime even if the following years competition has already started.
