What a lot of rubbish! So your wanting us to tell an out of work manager not to have any other interviews just incase we want to interview them? plus its the NI job- getting considered for their national job would be one of the proudest moments for them. I get what your saying regarding your wanting someone 100% committed but going for an interview doesnt mean he isnt interested in united job. Surel if your going to be discarding manager for interviewing for other jobs then no one would get appointed.

Agree with this.
Get him interviewed. Terrible timing however, given what is going in in the world right now. It would bring us serious bad press for a while.
Don't agree with this.
These managers can't turn down an NI interview in the 'hope' they may get a Utd one. I've been in this situation before. If both jobs are more appealing than your current one, you apply for both. The fact NI have got in before us with their interviews suggests to me they want there man more than we do. Can't hold that against Wright or Robinson. I don't for a second think Robinson is in for the Utd job though.
MM is a tricky one for all the reasons stated so far. Tell you what though, he would be busting his balls to succeed at whichever club gives him a chance to get his managerial career back.
Malkay Mackay would be top of my list now if he's a serious contender. Gary Holt would be 2nd followed by John Robertson. That's assuming that United are not interested in Tommy Wright.
Mackay has not managed in Scotland but has been with the SFA long enough now to have knowledge of the game up here.
The other 3 are all experienced Scottish premiership managers which is what we need in our first season back .
McKay was given full backing of Kick it Out when appointed caretaker of Scotland after completing 're hab programme , so don't get all the negativity , would do for me , would also have wealth of contacts , can't get rid of feeling it will be Wright tho
From the Daily Record online transfer section:
Tranmere Rovers boss Micky Mellon, ex-Birmingham City manager Steve Cotterill and Stoke City assistant Billy McKinlay have come under consideration for the Dundee United job, writes Scott Burns.
The Tannadice club have interviewed around 12 candidates in the past few days.
Assistants Lee McCulloch and Gordon Forrest were also in the thinking but the feeling is that the pair no longer want to be considered.
They look likely to follow Robbie Neilson to Hearts as part of his backroom team.
Former Scotland captain Darren Fletcher has also been mentioned but there has been no contact.
The SFA’s performance director Malky Mackay has been backed heavily at the bookies.
