Isn't it always though? It's the same every time. Same old **** with one or two half decent candidates. The joys of Scottish football really.
Not sure where I stand in what kind of candidate I want. I usually go down the route of wanting a young, exciting, up & coming manager but I've now come to terms with the fact most of these guys haven't actually got a ****ing clue and manage from the Largs rulebook of 4231 which comes without a plan B.
Mellon and Mackay both have experience of winning leagues & trophies. Both favour 442. Wright has a vast experience of the Scottish league and what it takes to survive. It's between these three for me.

Ian Baraclough has been offered the NI job so Wright is available however I’m warming to the idea of Malky MacKay I must admit as he also ticks the boxes we’re looking for. Obviously this is purely from a footballing perspective as I would hope he has atoned for his previous behaviour and is more aware of ‘cultural’ issues and their importance now. Any repeat of that and he’d be oot on his ear.

Despite what was said up in Scotland, he was always the favourite for the NI job.

FWIW My thoughts on the manager. It would have to be Tommy Wright firsr choice followed by Mickey Mellon.

IMO Malkay Mackay too much baggage. If he had a Pep Guardiola record then might be worth taking the stick but his record looks poor. He could be another Owen Coyle, has a good season down south the rest abysmal.

Tommy Wright decent record with pretty terrible squads.I think he could do alot with players we have and possibly this would result in a more attractive and attacking game.

Micky Mellon, I know little about him but his record looks good.He may also know of some players at that level in England that could do a great job in the SPFL..

After reading numerous posts on this and not so sure myself, I never thought I would go for Wright, but...…… looking at the options (not including lengths of contracts etc) and some good input from here. I think if we are looking to..stay up, then move up etc, he might actually be the man.

Two year contract for stability seems reasonable. He kept St J at a decent level for years , that can't be a fluke.

Current climate, stability and everything that goes with that, I think out of all the names just now, he might just be the guy.

Also, he might have a better squad at his disposal and let loose a wee bit, and play a more hmmmm. attacking formation?

Yi never know...………. not overexcited with most of the others.

That's the worry. He might now though now that the NI job is seemingly gone. Did he even get interviewed for that job?
