What happened to the initial statement that Utd wanting someone with experience of the Scottish game? This has to be one of the most important appointments that we will make in terms of our short term financial future and some of the names spouted by the media and bookies give me the fear. Do we need such a high profile name as McLaren? Yes it wld be absolute gold for the media. But wld he be able to hit the ground running in the short period before the season starts. I’m not sure.

Tbf it wasn't a Utd statement and was only ever reported on Sky Sports News. He's currently assisting in some kind of capacity with Fifa which involves the Scottish league.

I'd be disregarding any statistics that come out of Newcastle & QPR tbh. 12 managers in the last 5 years between the two of them. That tells me there's something more seriously wrong than just the manager.

McLaren was on 50k a week AT QPR. Would love to see him have a go up here but can't see it, just for wages alone.
