Bowman & Grant know the place inside out & from all directions & no 'old regime' accusation nonsense either, this is a new regime.
It obviously wont be Bow and Grant long term. While the academy is still off they can help out. Mellon was likely waiting on the Tranmere decision before moving on someone. He'll likely be interviewing/chatting to people he is interested in coming on board.

It may well be Bowman & Grant long term and I hope we'll not be too disappointed.

I'd be astonished if these two were promoted to first team coaches.

I get that so called s hite that you refer too...and yes he doesn’t have to bring in his own team. But as a manager I wld be looking at who I want to work with and not who I am left with. You mention mcnamara and c/o as a poor example of what happens when a manager comes in with his own team, and I raise you Shaba who was happy to come in and work with the current set up and how well that went. Also a prime example of when it does go well is Levein and houston. So plenty of for and against. There are plenty of bodies at UTD that could point MM in the right direction shld he require any assistant getting about. What we need is a good solid management team. Not more disruption to the present set especially after all the money that’s been put into it.

I'd imagine MM would have been asked post-appointment by TA & Co, right, who's your bestie down there? MM might have said well it is MJ but both of us want him to take over the position I've vacated. Anyone else? No, not really, and on seeing what I'm seeing here I'd be perfectly happy with working with what we've got.
Davie Bowman & Brian Grant are two shrewd opperators who stand out.

I'd be interested to hear how much you know about the qualities and credentials of Grant & Bowman that make them such perfect candidates for Premiership first team coaches.

As far as I'm aware Grant used to manage McDonald's in Forfar before becoming a youth coach at Utd. Bowman has floated about Utd for numerous years taking on various coaching roles given to him by his pals and now works with Grant with the youths.

Robson is probably the only former player I'd happily giving a coaching role to if I'm being honest. He's had a great career at various clubs around the world working under numerous different managers, captaining a few of them. He's had the responsibility of being the SSB's u18 coach for the last few years whilst also taking up the role of first team coach under McInnes. I've always thought he talked well in interviews, he's got a great coaching brain which comes across when he speaks. I've no doubt he'll be a manager soon. I'm sure Mellon will know of a few suitable candidates himself however.
