I pray Stripes that Smith and Terry are still there this September! I also hope the Board give them another 140 million and their first investment can be Zohore - he must have at least 25 million on his head to start! They can even have Johnstone back too - lets say 15 million

I assume that you mean that we pay Villa £15m to take Johnstone back!

Al are you sure you heard that right, at the end of Sunday's game he said we'd become hard to beat and were out of form pre-lockdown with some other points made about what had been worked on. I can't see why he would say the complete opposite but then again I wasn't listening to that radio interview.

It may not be much if you're one of the teams that finished in the top 4 but compared to Toon, Palace etc it is and they finished way above Vile.

Smith should have a planet made just for him. Let's call it Fantasy Football.
Newcastle spent £40m on Joelinton who scored 2 goals.

£9m per player is **** all in the Premier league. If the baggies do what Sheff utd did and come up with no named players that somehow over perform that is your only chance at survival. If you had the team and scouts and manager that The Biggest Club in the Black Country have, you'd be fine. If you think you can come up with your squad and spend 20p on payers, you'll be boinging straight back down again.

The Villa had to buy more than 10 players when we came up because if loans ending, elderly players and only championship quality players. A lot was wasted but we did get Heaton, Mings, Targett, Hause, Konsa, Nakamba, Wesley and Samatta. The jury is still out on a number of these.

Smith said we had been hard to beat since lockdown. And he was correct.

Yes. He definitely said that in the context of the full season several games ago which is why I think he talks complete boll@x. He’s out of his depth Imo but feel free to disagree. You stayed up by a dodgy point. No offence but I hope you keep him and Terry

Not many English managers make a career for themselves in the top division Stripes and Smith has started to find his feet tactically. He also got us to a cup final, we were lucky to win promotion and with so much change to the squad in one window it was a big ask, he deserves some credit for that.

A dodgy point - supposing a goal had been awarded to Sheff Utd just before half-time, there is a whole half to get something and the complexion of the game would have been different. On that basis it's just one dodgy technology issue amongst a string of dodgy VAR decisions which had they all been correct would have placed us higher in the table with 2 more points.

Think you were very fortunate WCV - Arsenal rolled over completely as they won the semi final and West Ham had zero to play for - honestly don’t feel it was anything to do with Smith who I don’t rate and that complete loony Terry. If you feel Smith has done well then Wilder needs to be knighted by the Queen in comparison!

It’s the rub of the green with the correct and prudent recruitment. Who would overseas internationals want to play for - Bilic or Smith? Many would not have heard of Smith and here’s our head start as it was proven this year with the players who came to us just because of Bilic!

We will spend not even half of the 140 million and give it a damn good go and not saying we will stay up but will have a better go than you with half the spend and a better manager. Sheffield U proved it can be done!

Best chance Villa have is to spend more wisely and get rid of those two clowns - again you had a huge slice of luck as mentioned above!

The antipathy towards Smith is in large part due to his total bias against Albion following the play off matches last season.

He was clearly watching different matches compared to most even minded fans of both sides.

He’s a f king whinger of the highest order as well........he needs to learn to be respectful of opponents.

Not sure Smith is a ‘whinger of the highest order’, the Midlands accent does not exactly endear itself to cheerfulness.

I’ve heard Bilic moan over the years, like Dianne Abbot underneath a rampant young Corbyn. All managers whinge, just not so much when they are flying in the top 2 of their respective leagues.

Let’s wait to hear your jovial Slavvy, once VAR sinks it’s teeth into your arses, when the pressure is on.
