Dissing him because he hasn't scored a professional goal. Come on.
How many had our own Ballon D'Or score before he joined us?
Maybe we'd be better off with a Maynard type player who has scored goals before

It looks like he's in his last year of his contract, so maybe this is a view to a permanent deal to replace Cosgrove
Yeah the point is though, we’ve got 19 year olds who haven’t scored a goal at the club already - why not just give them a go if that’s the type of player we’re signing? We can adapt our style of play a bit surely to play with someone up top who isn’t 6ft5 - Anderson with McGinn, McLennan, Wright, Kennedy behind him - give Michael Ruth some game time etc. If these guys aren’t good enough at the age they’re at they’re never going to be good enough. Just give them a go rather than parachuting in someone from another clubs youth system.

If he’s in the last year of his contract and he does even semi well Leeds will offer him another contract and you can be fairly sure he won’t be staying here.

If the guy joins I wish him all the best and hope he is prolific - I’m just saying I don’t see the point in bringing youth players from other clubs when we have our own youth setup.

If we are stuck I'd like to see McLennan given a try through the middle. He's not the winger Hayes , McGinn or Kennedy is and he can't cross a ball to save himself - but he's a strong loon and seems to be able to finish. Either that or punt him because he doesn't add anything being used wide.

Your comparison with Cosgrove is pointless too.
Cosgrove was signed on a long term permanent contract, signed as a “project” almost.
He wasn’t for the first team right away, & it was a while before he broke through.

So why compare him to a lad we’ve signed on loan?
When you sign a player on loan it’s with a view to making an impact right away.

So that’s this Edmondson guy written off already, yeah? Nae even fackin’ signed yet and the Depressive Dept have analysed it and decided?

If Motherwell signed him, we’d be jizzing all over how good he is

    I give up sometimes.

    Play up Dons (happy clap)

Can't speak for others but i won't write him off - give the boy a go. What vinegars my piles is the fascination with target men - ask a centre half who they want to play against and i bet most in the SPL would be oh a big guy that's not too fast please.

Read my post and then reply - I might’ve known you’d get all defensive of AFC.
I’m saying talk of international strikers signing is far fetched when that’s who we’re looking at.
Fair enough, it was just the last bit of p!sh that get easily banded about

Talk of international strikers seems far fetched when we’re plucking players from Leeds reserves who haven’t scored a professional first team goal.
It looks like we spoke with Steven Fletcher (the apparent International striker) on a short term deal but were priced out, so maybe reverting to our long term plan.

Cosgrove has a fair turn of pace on him and I was very impressed with Dykes pace when Livingston were last up at Pittodrie.
Probably the ideal is a player with "stature" who has a bot of pace about them.
That said, there have been many players of "stature" who were not blessed with pace but did quite well.
