Per 100,000 ? - so who's having these tests - where are they going for them....because with the numbers they keep throwing at us - we should be seeing queues miles long at these testing centres, wherever they are ? - so how are they figuring it - does a positive result for one...mean that they'll include anyone that had contact (been in the vicinity ) with the so-called infected person for say the previous 3/5 days....is that how they're doing this highly suspect number stretching ? - As for the test, as is known....it's inventor, back in the 80's, "Dr Kary Mullis"....made it quite plain that it (PCR Test) shouldn't (cannot) be used to detect for an infectious disease , I'd imagine he'd be very upset to learn that his test has been weaponized by a true Virus that'll gain a result regardless - about 30 odd cycles for a negative - and 40 odd cycles for a positive....it has loads of scope for the fiddle, but they knew that, didn't they !

Interesting question norder because I have not seen any testing places up in my area so it makes you wonder whether they test a few who they know are probably positive and then do multiplication to give a figure for so many out of 100,000.
I had heard that the main testing was being carried out by the violin sections of various well known orchestras because thay are expert fiddlers ------as a bass player I have not been approached!

According to ONS data they're carrying out about 15,000 tests per week in the North West, which covers a vast area, but the ONS themselves have no confidence in their figures, this is from the ONS Regional Analysis,

"There is not enough evidence to say there are differences in the percentage of people testing positive for COVID-19 in different regions of England."

But the government are locking down millions of people on that very basis.
