The name Richer Sounds brings back memories. I used to love going there, somewhere near the Hallamshire Hospital if I remember right. Any turntable they sell will be fine, I'm sure. So glad they are still going :-)

Sure I heard on radio that cassette tapes are making a comeback as well now.

Do the police still use tapes in interviews?
Just watched line of duty and they are still using them

Just across the road from Weston Park hospital. I think it's been closed during covid lock down. Parking around there is a nightmare, now mostly residents parking zones.

Record Collector is still open in Broomhill as well.

Not changed as much as other places.

Caught the Yorkshire Ripper in Broomhill too.

I used to live just down from Broomhill spent many a happy hour in record collecter, i think they used to sell gig tickets too.
I remember going in the richer sounds shop too.

I always thought the ripper was caught nearer broomhall tbh near the junction with West St and Glossop Road but could be wrong

I had a look on the richer sounds site and some are tele sales some online and some of the stores are opening by appointment.
I decided to go with the Audio-Technica mentioned in great fires post.
Looks a decent entry level turntabl that should suit me just fine, the USB connection on that one swung it.
Going with richer sounds too mainly down to, as previously mentioned, what looks like very good customer service.
