It is what it is. He obviously saw his future elsewhere and we might choose to replace him with a different type of striker, perhaps someone more able to provide direct competition/cover for Kyle Wootton as a centre forward. It needs to be someone with a decent goal record though, because Dennis was certainly a threat and we don't to lose that edge.
I think the same, not just last season , but the relegation season as well

It seems Ardley never found a way to utilise the best from Dennis. To me for a player of Dennis,s ability, it was madness he was sent out on loan to grimsby. He should be in the starting line up for every game, with players put on that will bring the best out of him. Even in the Harragate match he had virtually no assists , because the action was all in the notts half, and was taken off, at half time

I do wonder, if the fact that Ardley would not guarantee regular first team footaball for him, infleunced his decision to leave. A player of his ability will never be happy sitting on the bench

You're making out like he was as good as Lee Hughes or something here. He scored 1 in 13 for Grimsby when he apparently should have been in our starting line up every game and managed a hefty 3 in 24 appearances for us. Pretty much everyone thought he was a big waste of money last season when I was one of few arguing that we didn't play to his strengths.

His problem was that if he wasn't poaching a goal he was usually not involved at all and you wouldn't notice he was playing until he scored or was subbed off whereas someone like Wes Thomas puts himself about, chases everything down, gets stuck in, holds the ball up and still scores the odd goal, it wasn't that surprising to me that he seemed to start more often than not because he brings more to the side in general play than Dennis ever did.

It's a bit like Osbourne and Grant, they could be complete passengers all game then pop up with a goal and fans think they had a brilliant 90 minutes

Fact is he is a good player , especially at National League, think he scored more than the odd goal
If Ardley does not play to Dennis strenghts, why is that his fault
The fact that other clubs are interested in him tells the story
It did,nt do Hemmings any harm going to scotland, he is now in league 1 , instead of the National league, and if dennis comes back to england , you probabably find him at a similar level

Disappointed, and he'll certainly need replacing.
How many goals does a top 2 side usually get? We're going to need enough scoring in the squad to hit that target...

As we all know, he was mainly a box player - a great finisher and a neat, skilful footballer. When he wasn't scoring though, his contribution could nose-dive - he didn't get too many starts away from home

Good luck to Kristian Dennis at St.Mirren, Notts fans will be checking their results hoping to see him on the scoresheet
